The proposed TamilNadu HousingBoard scheme offers 1800 families from the economically weaker section of the population a place they can now call home in PN Palayam, North Coimbatore. The site is proximally located close by the Mettupalayam highway (NH 67) and the PN Palayam Railway Station.
Compact 400 SqFt modular flats stacked in 18 blocks, Ground Level + 4 Floors, 100 flats per block constitute the scheme spread along a 10.8 acre plot envisaged amidst a lush green locale fed by the Koushika River down south.
The apartments are equipped with a Grey-water recycling plant, Sewage Treatment network, Solar street-lights and Rainwater Harvesting system apart from a storm-water network, Internal Roads and Open Space Reservation Parks.
This scheme which was inaugurated to the public last month will uplift the standards of living of hundreds of people providing them better accessibility towards education, employment and infrastructure. In turn, it will foster socio-economic activity in the locality.
