In association with I2K2 Networks, Kalpa Studios has organized a one-day workshop " Digital Media Journalism in 2020" for journalists at as a part of the initiative to impart digital skills to create successful News Portals, online journalists, and entrepreneurs.
Journalists reporting on various beats including political, business,tech and IT from print, electronic and digital mediums were part of the workshop. The goal of the training was to equip journalist with marketable digital skills that can be turned into a sustainable stream of income.
Keeping pace with an increasingly digital world that requires an in-depth understanding of technological trends and advancements across the globe. The workshop discussed the role of disruptive technologies, content planning, search engine optimization, server essentials and revenue models in terms of transforming the landscape of Digital India.
Speaking at the Workshop, Sameer Datta commented, “With the digital shift challenging old norms, it has become a necessity for the journalist to acquire skills to keep pace with emerging online technologies. Capacity-building initiatives enabling innovation and growth are imperative for the media fraternity to be digitally equipped.” His session covered topics like News content planning, type of news, SEO in 2020, traffic generation and collaborative approach towards website promotion.
Workshop coordinator Mr Ashish Tiwari remarked on the occasion, “We are hopeful that this workshop improves the digital media capabilities of participants and encourages a solutions-based approach to journalism."
While giving an overview of rapidly transforming Hosting Technology , CEO of I2K2 Networks, the leading hosting company in India Mr Kamleshwar Bhatt discussed the need for the media to have an in-depth understanding of emerging trends, and the difference between shared hosting, VPS, and Cloud server technologies. He gave special emphasis on the importance of Backups.
Mr Sunil Bhatt from Raftaar.in 'A' category website registered with DAVP threw a light on available revenue sources for News Portals. His session covered Google Adsense, and other revenues models available in digital world.
With the right training, journalists can play a crucial role in the technological revolution by enhancing society’s readiness for Digital India.
