Hiroshi Yoshida, a prominent figure in the world of woodblock prints, embarked on a journey to India in November 1930. For over four months, he immersed himself in the sights and culture of the country, meticulously sketching and capturing its essence. Upon returning to Japan, Yoshida translated his experiences into a captivating series of 32 woodblock prints. These works, celebrated for their rich colours and meticulous detail, showcase a variety of Indian landscapes and cultural scenes, offering a glimpse into India as seen through the eyes of a masterful Japanese artist.
