Can a house evoke memories without clearly referencing them? This Assagao home does exactly that drawing on the subtle nostalgia of places experienced before, yet reinterpreted in a contemporary, thoughtful way. Designed by Ashna Bhalla of Lasso Design .ld ,the 4,800 sq ft residence balances restraint with personal expression.
Spanning two living areas over two floors, a dining space, five bedrooms and bathrooms, a terrace, and an outdoor pool, the home flows smoothly. Yellow-beige limewashed walls provide a calm backdrop for tactile materials, warm teak and hand-finished surfaces. From botanical motifs in the guest bedroom to the softly layered lighting, each detail is subtly imbued with character. Composed, personal and enduring, this home sits gracefully between past and present, familiarity and change.
