Since the time I have disclosed about business closure, I’ve received so many messages filled with questions, support, love… and honestly, it’s been overwhelming in the best way.
As I write this, there’s already a flood of emotions running through me- gratitude, heaviness, and a quiet sense of acceptance.
A lot of you asked why.
To put it simply, sometimes having a creative and artistic mindset doesn’t always align with running a business the way it demands. And that’s okay. It’s not wrong. It’s just something I’ve come to understand with time.
Dpotli has given me so much..learnings, experiences, and growth that I wouldn’t trade for anything. But everything has its time, and I believe it’s better to let go at the right moment rather than stretching something unnecessarily.
Unless I close this chapter fully, I won’t be able to move forward to the next one.
I also want to say this; thank you to everyone who supported us, stayed with us, and believed in what we were building.
And equally, thank you to those who made things harder than they needed to be. You taught me lessons I wouldn’t have learned otherwise.
There are also parts of this journey I won’t fully share.
But one thing I’ve learned the hard way..big corporates can be extremely transactional. For them, it’s often just numbers. As a small business, it’s easy to get drawn into something that looks exciting from the outside, but may not always align with your reality.
I won’t go into details, we have our dignity.
But if there’s one thing I’d say to other small brands: be careful who you build with. Your dreams are not their responsibility.
What I’m truly grateful for, though, is you.
The messages, the support, the kindness..this is what I’ve earned over the years. And this is what I’m most happy to take away from Dpotli… people.
