Mridā, Navi Mumbai

In the realm of experiential retail design, the threshold is a deliberate moment of pause.

For the final reveal of the new Label SW by Shikha Warule flagship, we drew inspiration from the Indian archetype, creating a striking, textural archway that grounds the visitor upon arrival. A layered threshold adds profound architectural depth to the facade, guiding the gaze inward where moody lighting reveals the rich & tactile intimacy of the boutique.

This boutique is a direct spatial reflection of Shikha herself. Her grounded warmth, paired with her inherently vibrant and creative spirit, translates seamlessly into the rich earthy tones and the delicate balance of traditional motifs with clean, modern lines.

Mridā, Navi Mumbai

A defining element is the sloping roof finished with Mangalore (kavle) tiles, which forms a dominant spatial gesture within the store. Beneath it, three arched openings that look like a veranda in old homes, with the central arch acting as a focal point for key pieces. This architectural frame adds rhythm and hierarchy to the spatial experience.

Mridā, Navi Mumbai

Rustic earthen pots are reinterpreted as display objects, with slender brass rods emerging from them to hold buttons and accessories, an intervention that is both functional and poetic. Such gestures make us reimagine the familiar through a contemporary lens.

Mridā, Navi Mumbai.

The store unfolds as a tactile backdrop to the vibrancy of the Indian garments. The material palette remains deliberately muted and textural ensuring the intricacy and colour of the clothing to take visual precedence. The space is layered with gestures that evoke both memory and modernity.
