How do you bring the richness of Indian tradition into a modern home without making it feel like a museum?
Welcome to Makaan Se Ghar Tak – Bangalore Edition | Chapter 2 : Home of an Artist
This contemporary Bangalore apartment is a reflection of the homeowner’s identity, memories, passions, and journey. The brief was to create a home rooted in Indian tradition while offering the comfort and functionality of modern apartment living.
Rather than following one particular regional style, the home brings together influences from across India through traditional architectural details, handcrafted elements, customised furniture, Indian art, GI-tagged products, and meaningful pieces collected over time.
The homeowner’s passion for wildlife photography and collecting products from different parts of India became an important part of the design. A traditional swing creates a personal connection to family memories, while traditional pillars and other Indian elements have been thoughtfully reinterpreted to suit the contemporary space.
From the modern kitchen and customised furniture to wooden ceiling elements and handcrafted details, every corner strikes a balance between traditional Indian character and contemporary living.
The project also came with a unique ex*****on challenge. With the homeowners based in Mumbai while their home was being designed and executed in Bangalore, CeeBee Design Studio managed the complete turnkey process — including civil work, carpentry, plumbing, lighting, painting, procurement, and ex*****on.
Because a truly personalised home is not just about how it looks, but also about how seamlessly it comes together.
This is Makaan Se Ghar Tak – Bangalore Edition, Chapter 2.
A home where tradition meets contemporary living, and every detail has a story.
