Raw Collaborative An exclusively curated show bringing together the best of Indian aesthetics in furniture design and home decor under one roof, for the first time in Gujarat.

India is a country to have embraced diversities and has been influential in art practices and design aesthetics for generations. As a country it strives to be an anchor for many designers and artists. The Raw collaborative has been conceived as a platform to bring together and showcase the work of the best of these Indian designers bound by the philosophy of creating exclusive handcrafted furniture and home decor products that are inherently Indian in their expression, process and outcome. This show seeks to bring together the sheer diversity in furniture design practices that our country designers have to offer under one roof, something that the city of Ahmedabad has never witnessed before. The event will see meticulous curation of works of talented designers and innovative concepts from all over India.

As tradition finds global resonance as a dynamic, almost living phenomenon as opposed to a static, rigid framework over the past few decades, contemporary design has also turned to the venerable knowledge systems emerging from it, while seeking solutions to address some of the most pressing issues plaguing the world.

Conversations and showcases worldwide are increasingly reflecting this paradigm shift as global platforms both adapt and emerge as forums for this exchange.

Bringing voices from contemporary culture and artistic histories of South Asia, and specifically the Indian subcontinent, to the London Design Festival 2026 by the multidisciplinary creative alliance, Raw Collaborative.

Bringing innovations and expressions rooted in culture and memory, the collaborative platform had its international debut with Design Intelligentsia at the House of Icon for the Shoreditch Design Week 2026 from September 15 – 17, 2026.

The quest and the conversations continue across borders celebrating Design in its entirety.

Amrita Nambiar is a contemporary artist and designer based in Bangalore. She is the founder and principal creative at Olie, the experimental lighting studio she started in 2019. A graduate of Chitrakala Parishath with a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts, Amrita combines artistry and innovation to craft sculptural works that explore the interplay of light, shadow, and emotion.
