In this episode, Ar. Karn Dev Singh talks about why lime was chosen for one of our upcoming projects, one we can’t wait to share with you soon.

Lime plaster has long been favoured in Indian homes, and for good reason.
1. Its breathable surface allows walls to absorb and release moisture, helping regulate humidity and improve thermal comfort.
2. When used over a wall with good thermal mass, it also supports the wall’s natural ability to moderate temperature throughout the day.
3. For a project built around a skylight, where maintaining cooler wall surfaces was important, lime was the clear choice.
4. The application is also simple: a substrate followed by a top coat in the colour of choice. The entire finish can be completed in under seven days.

Dev Setu was imagined as a bridge that welcomes you to Lucknow.Dev Setu was envisioned as a landmark that celebrates connection between people, culture, and place. Inspired by the timeless Namaste gesture, the twin pylons rise like folded hands, creating a symbolic gateway over the Gomti. The experience extends beyond structure and engineering, with intricate jali detailing inspired by traditional Awadhi craftsmanship woven into the architecture, bringing Lucknow’s rich cultural heritage into a contemporary form.

Spanning 180 metres across the river, the proposal sought to create a safer and more walkable pedestrian connection between the Marine Drive edge and the city’s vibrant public spaces, while offering a memorable arrival experience for every visitor.

What if a bridge could do more than connect two places? What if it could welcome you to a city?

Dev Setu was our proposal for the LDA Pedestrian Bridge Design Competition. Had it been built, it would have been the tallest pedestrian bridge in Uttar Pradesh.

Inspired by the timeless Namaste gesture, the bridge was designed to greet every visitor arriving at the Gomti Riverfront. The experience began even before stepping onto the deck, with an underbelly featuring a custom-designed jali inspired by traditional Awadhi craftsmanship, bringing the region’s architectural language into a contemporary structure.

Situated opposite the iconic La Martiniere College, Lucknow, this proposed cable-suspended pedestrian bridge was envisioned to create a safer, faster, and more walkable connection across the Gomti River.

Originally conceived as our submission for the LDA Pedestrian Bridge Design Competition, the proposal reimagines the Gomti Riverfront through a bridge deeply rooted in cultural identity. Inspired by the timeless Namaste gesture, its sculptural supports symbolize welcome, respect, unity, and the connection between two landmasses, translating a familiar cultural expression into contemporary architectural language.

A residence where public and private spaces were designed to exist independently of each other. The ground and first floors serve as shared living spaces, while the second floor is kept strictly private.

Since the plot is recessed, the landscape and greenery were given significant focus, shaping the approach to the house as much as the architecture itself.

Earthy materials suited to the Indian climate were used throughout, grounding the design in its context.
