Each of our pieces are made from a single piece of wood sourced from felled trees. Each piece is hand turned and very often the pieces emerge in the process of turning, allowing the wood to speak its own language, guiding our hands along its contours, shaping its form.

The works are rooted in memories and shared stories, deeply grounded in research and a celebration of the interplay between light and shadow.

We have been fascinated by the process of flaming wood and for over a year our craftspeople and us have been pouring over videos and tutorials, debating techniques and experimenting. After a long while we’re finally ready to share this with the world.

The Kiriko vase is made entirely by hand using responsibly and locally sourced sheesham or Indian Rosewood (Dalbergia sissoo) which is seasoned over a period of time using traditional methods. The piece is then hand turned on a lathe machine. Once the form as been achieved, the artisans uses hand tools to cut and shape the vase. The piece is then sanded and polished using an edible linseed oil before it is left to dry naturally. Each piece is worked on over a period of days.

When you live in Goa, mornings for us begin with the baker ringing a bell as he bicycles down the lane, announcing the coming of a new day and freshly-made Poi. Our breadboards are an ode to fresh mornings, hot buns with butter and birdsong. Available in two shapes, they also work wonderfully to serve tapas or mezze on.

The Poyi bread board is our first board we made 5 years ago and we are proud to say it’s our fastest selling board. Remaining stocks are low, with new stocks coming in a few weeks.

Inspired by the notion of ‘intervention’ by nature or man, this piece asks the question – how does an intervention alter our sense of the object? We began by developing and experimenting with materials other than wood. And after many long months of experimenting, we hit upon an amber resin made by a Tibetan family in the lower reaches of the Himalayas. Together with our craftspeople we began to explore the range of this material and the present collection emerged.

This piece is made entirely by hand using responsibly and locally sourced Sheesham or Indian Rosewood (Dalbergia sissoo) which is seasoned over a period of time using traditional methods. The piece is then hand turned on a lathe machine. Once the form has been developed the resin is inserted into the wood by gently and precisely carving out the form. The piece is then sanded and polished using an edible linseed oil before it is left to dry naturally. Each piece is worked on over a period of days.
