Serenity with a Streak of Rebellion
Quiet timber tones and an enveloping grey sectional set a composed rhythm, only for art to interrupt it—in the best possible way. A rug spills colour across the floor, a sculptural striped figure brings an unexpected sense of theatre, while the softly illuminated library turns books and collected objects into part of the architecture.

What gives the space its character is the tension between restraint and play. Deep, generous seating encourages long conversations, layered textures soften the clean-lined shell, and pools of warm light bring intimacy to the muted palette. It is a living room designed not simply to be admired, but inhabited—personal, tactile and confidently expressive, where sophistication finds its most memorable form in a little irreverence.

The Staircase as a Living Sculpture

A sweeping staircase becomes an experience in movement, its marble treads unfolding around a sculptural metal spine with an almost weightless precision. Curved glass traces the ascent with quiet transparency, while concealed illumination washes the textured walls and stone surfaces in a soft rhythm of light and shadow. Every line feels considered, allowing structure, material and craftsmanship to speak without excess.

At its centre, a flowering tree transforms the stairwell into an intimate indoor landscape, rising from a bed of white pebbles and foliage as though the architecture has grown around it. Viewed from above or encountered at eye level, nature and geometry continually overlap—turning an everyday transition between floors into a moment of pause, discovery and understated luxury.

A Quiet Retreat in Layers of Warmth and Texture

A restrained palette of taupe, stone and smoky grey gives the bedroom an enveloping calm, while a deeply tufted headboard brings softness and scale to the composition. Graphic contrasts arrive through the monochrome console and abstract artwork, balanced by the warm glow of a sculptural pendant whose luminous discs hover almost like jewellery within the room.

Near the window, a rounded lounge chair, layered sheers and lush planting create an intimate retreat washed in filtered daylight. Tactile upholstery, polished flooring and subtly textured wall finishes build richness without excess, allowing every material, silhouette and object to hold its own in a space that feels composed, personal and quietly luxurious.

A Bedroom with Personal Character

Soft daylight filters through sheer curtains, revealing a bedroom composed in warm neutrals and deep grey. The upholstered headboard and layered bedding sit against large, veined wall panels, bringing contrasting textures into a closely balanced setting.
Beside the bed, a colourful artwork introduces a personal accent. Slender pendant lights and a reflective bedside surface add definition, while an armchair near the window offers a separate place to pause. The upholstered bench extends the room’s softness towards the foot of the bed.

Gathering within a Grand Volume
The height of this living room creates an immediate sense of openness. A bridge-like upper passage crosses the space, while tall windows bring daylight into the seating areas below. Dark wall finishes frame the volume, balancing the pale floor and softer upholstery.

Within that generous setting, furniture defines smaller places for conversation. Facing sofas, individual armchairs and low tables keep the arrangement close to the scale of everyday use. The patterned rugs give each grouping a clear place within the larger room.
Spatial drama becomes meaningful when people can settle comfortably within it.

A Living Room Composed in Layers

Soaring proportions give the living room its quiet sense of theatre, where full-height drapery, dark stone, warm wall panelling and a sculptural constellation of pendant lights frame an atmosphere of understated grandeur. A richly textured artwork commands the double-height wall, bringing expressive colour and movement into an otherwise restrained palette of taupe, charcoal and soft neutrals.

Below, generous curved seating gathers the room into a more intimate scale, balanced by marble accents, tactile upholstery and an earthy burnt-orange ottoman. The layered rugs, sculptural objects and carefully placed tables lend the setting the character of a curated salon—refined yet comfortable, where art, material and light come together with effortless sophistication.

As one of the most personal spaces in a home, the bedroom should reflect the personality of the user. Through a careful balance of colours, materials, and details, the design brings individuality into a cohesive whole.

The sense of arrival unfolds through a carefully composed sequence of architecture, light and landscape. A richly detailed porte-cochère, geometric stone flooring, sculpted ceilings and crafted metalwork lend the entrance a quiet grandeur, while the façade rises above in a disciplined rhythm of balconies, framed windows and deep architectural reveals.

At the summit, that formality dissolves into a private garden in the sky. Curving paths weave through lawns, trees and intimate seating pockets, creating a softer world above the city, while the pool becomes a reflective pause within the composition. The journey from entrance to rooftop feels deliberately layered—grounded in detail below, open to light and landscape above.

A Residence Composed Between the City and the Sea
Rising along Mumbai’s coastal edge, Varun is envisioned as a refined vertical residence where timeless architectural proportions meet the ease of contemporary living. Deep balconies, projecting bays, expansive glazing and finely detailed metalwork lend the façade a distinct rhythm, while the sculpted entrance and landscaped arrival create a strong sense of identity at street level.

As the building rises, private balconies extend everyday life towards the city and sea, bringing light, openness and a sense of calm into each residence. At the rooftop, landscaped pathways, shaded seating, a pavilion and pool shape an elevated retreat above the urban landscape. Thoughtfully composed from arrival to skyline, Varun brings together architecture, landscape and detail in a home that feels elegant, intimate and quietly enduring.

Quiet Layers of Character – A Home Shaped by Detail

Warm timber, deep ocean blues and softly muted tones lend the private spaces of this home an intimate, collected character. In the bedroom, finely crafted wall panelling forms a rich architectural backdrop to tactile upholstery, layered textiles and monochrome art, balancing warmth with a distinctly contemporary restraint. Beside it, the study shifts into a more whimsical rhythm, where celestial motifs, sculptural shelving and carefully placed objects turn an everyday workspace into a personal composition of colour, craft and curiosity.

Across both spaces, design is expressed through contrasts that feel considered rather than contrived—the grain of wood against cool stone, structured joinery against fluid forms, and bold pattern tempered by a calm material palette. Art, books and objects are woven naturally into the architecture, allowing each corner to carry its own identity while remaining connected to the larger language of the home. The result is an interior that feels deeply lived-in yet refined, where quiet luxury emerges through craftsmanship, individuality and the beauty of details gathered over time.
