A rare statement of French Belle Époque elegance. 🇫🇷
This exquisite French Louis XVI-style encoignure, or bow-front corner cabinet, combines architectural elegance with exceptional decorative craftsmanship.
Designed to sit seamlessly within a corner, the cabinet features a beautifully figured burr wood veneered door, intricate tinted-wood marquetry and finely executed ormolu gilt-bronze mounts.
The central panel presents an elegant pastoral and musical trophy motif, with a ribbon-tied bow, floral garlands and crossed hunting horns, while the upper frieze continues the composition with scrolling foliate and floral marquetry.
A variegated grey and white marble top, framed by a delicate pierced gilt-bronze gallery, completes the piece.
The Neoclassical character is further expressed through the finely chased ormolu details — including female mask and caryatid-inspired mounts, foliate chutes, guilloche edging and an acanthus-and-scroll apron ornament.
A distinguished piece for a collector, designer or connoisseur of European antique furniture, equally suited to a refined residence, heritage interior, boutique hotel or statement corner.
