5 signs your office doesn't have a space problem.
It has a planning problem.
I've seen this happen often.
A company grows, adds a few more employees, brings in more furniture—and suddenly the office starts feeling smaller every few months.
People keep moving desks.
Meeting rooms are always occupied.
Storage starts spilling into work areas.
Teams struggle to find quiet spaces.
And more furniture gets added without actually creating more capacity.
The obvious reaction is:
"We need a bigger office."
But sometimes, you don't need more square feet.
You need to make the existing square feet work harder.
That's where space planning matters.
Before adding another desk or breaking another wall, look at:
→ How people move through the office
→ Which teams need to work together
→ Where collaboration actually happens
→ Where people need privacy and focus
→ How the business is expected to grow
Good office design isn't about fitting more into a space.
It's about creating a space that supports how your people actually work.
If 2 or more of these problems sound familiar, your office may be ready for a space-planning review.
I've created an Office Space Planning Checklist to help you identify the gaps.
