“Chor” in Hindi means “thief” hence literally translated “Chor Bazaar” means “Thief’s Market”.But there is a history linked to this name, this market was originally called Shor Bazaar, meaning “noisy market”, but with British mispronunciation “shor” became “chor” and the name stuck.
