I founded 'Sculptures Of India' (SOI). The objective of starting an initiative on this scale is to take the art forms of India to a global level and showcase the richness that lies within our artisans; showcase that the craftsmanship of Indian artisans is beyond comparison. I have been involved in this business over a few years, however on a very personal and minuscule level. What triggered me to
take this ahead and churn it into a social business plan is to safe guard the heritage of sculpting and painting these artisans posses in their gene pool. Because of the difficult times and the ever contributing unorganized market,
these artisans are not being able to pass the legacy of sculpting and painting to their children. And the children or youth enamoured with the limelight and living conditions in urban townships feel compelled to find a living there. End result the decline of our heritage. I stood up and told myself that this magnificence should not go towards oblivion. That is when then I came up with the name ‘Sculptures of India’, hoping, that this will unify the creations and imaginations of artisans across different states in India under a vision of a global brand and platform to showcase their story. We will operate like a company where we want to double the salaries which these artisans currently get for sculpting and painting. We want to organize a series of ties up with renowned sculptors and acclaimed artists across the globe to train these artisans on the global standards of sculpting and painting. We want to bring them closer to technology and make them see how much their work is being appreciated amongst the buyers by making a mandate of a video feedback from the buyer to the sculptor or artists. We want to bridge the boundaries between the urban lifestyle to that of artisans lineage so as to protect and nurture the gift of Indian renaissance. Business Aspect of SOI:
As the name speaks for itself, we are primarily into sculptures and paintings from across India. These sculptures and paintings showcase the traditional art forms, culture, heritage and above all the history of Indian mythology. We specialize in sculptures for landscaping ( 6 feet and above) for townships, farmhouses, entrance to villas or projects by state government for sculptures in parks and green belt areas. Further we also specialize in sculptures for interiors ( 1 feet to 5 feet) which are so intrinsically carved that its bound to enhances the grandeur of your house or farm house. All these sculptures and painting are made by our artisans who we regularly train on sculpting. One things we boast about is that none of our products, be it sculptures or paintings, use any sorts of modern machineries to give the shape and form it finally takes as an end product.
