A Clay Story

A Clay Story A Clay Story, a brand aspiring to tell a tale of lovingly handcrafted ceramics for everyday use.

In today's world of mass produced perfection, the little flaws of a handcrafted piece are what make it unique. Each creation contains in it a part of the soul of the artist, narrating her story, piece by piece. Introducing you to A Clay Story, a brand aspiring to tell a tale of lovingly handcrafted ceramics, made in a small artisanal workshop.

I felt excited, nervous and tired as I worked through this range. To be honest, I would like to say I got lost in the process of painting each piece...but the reality was they kept drying and I didn't have the liberty of time the way I do on a canvas.

Which made me realise something like this can only happen a few pieces a day, unlike our other glazed pieces.

So I gave up on making "sets" and slowed down. Each piece varies in shape, size and form much to the whimsy of that days mood and weather.

Each mug, hand-thrown, hand painted with soft washes of blue, blush pink, sage that blur into one another like a Monet landscape glimpsed through morning mist.

No two pieces are exactly alike, every brushstroke is loose, painterly, and entirely one-of-a-kind. Perfect for slow mornings with coffee or tea, evoking the feeling that you're holding a little piece of nature in your palms.

I can't wait to share this with you :) Lots more BTS in stories today.

We give names to product to make them identifiable, but often they serve a purpose much more than what their names suggest.

Isn't it better if you use your favourites for multiple things again and again instead of reaching out to them once in a while?

Which is that one item on your shelf you reach out to the most? For me its the shallow pasta plate.

Painting has always been my first love, ever since I was a kid that was my happy place

I painted when I travelled, felt happy or felt sad. But over the years, I did less and less of it
..and complained about not doing it enough! (Such a hypocrite, right?)

So I thought...why not combine the two mediums I love.

In the process, I fell in love with the tumblers. It felt like holding a piece of nature in your palms

And thus began a series of trials....multiple slips, glazes and applications

But the dream for this series is to go beyond tableware....so probably for the first and the last time

Presenting to you...

MONET TUMBLERS

A simple vase can elevate any corner of our homes. Use it as a single piece paired with some coffee table books and candles, or as a set of two...you cannot go wrong with it.

Got out of my comfort zone and played with hues of olives, terracotta, browns and a deep green to create this collection...I'd love to know which is your favourite?

Earthy hues, minimal forms and a simple arrangement is enough to lift a space, isn't it?

What began as a few intuitive abstract brushstrokes on a single piece, simply to test a new material, slowly grew into a collection of tumblers and vases.

The very first piece was made back in January 2025. It stayed with me for over a year before finally finding its way into the kiln, and somehow, it felt like the beginning of something.

Painted in cerulean blue, yellow ochre, and soft hints of white, this collection reminds me of the beach...the meeting of sea, sand, and sky. Does it remind you of that too? Or does it remind you of something else, I would love to know.

This is one collection I'm genuinely struggling to name, so I'd love your ideas. And if you're as drawn to it as I am, stay close this week... there's a lot coming soon. ✨

Studio is in full production mode which often means there's no space to walk, but that's also my favourite time.

This year has been such a whirlwind. I feel like I've been away every other week since the beginning of this year which made finding a rhythm at the studio difficult.

But the last two weeks got back some sense of normalcy. With the production on, I have worked on a personal project which I had pushed for a while and also managed to find time to sort our existing stock and take count. It is strange how when the work is crazy, you manage the time to still do other small tasks that you have been putting off but when the work is slow, you lack the motivation to do things you should be doing.

I'll be spending the weekend updating that website - which means finallllyyyy you'll be getting an email soon 😉

More soon...I am very excited to share what we have in store this time ✨️
