These hand-painted metal earrings are little pieces of art, each one painted by hand with its own colours, details and personality.

Isn't this Kathakali?"

That's probably the question I get asked the most whenever I paint this design.

And the answer is... No.

This is Yakshagana, a spectacular folk theatre and dance tradition from Karnataka. While it shares some visual similarities with Kathakali from Kerala, the two are distinct art forms with their own unique identities.

Both feature elaborate costumes, dramatic facial makeup and larger-than-life headgear, which is why they're often confused.

But here's what sets them apart:

Kathakali is a classical dance-drama from Kerala. The performers tell stories almost entirely through hand gestures (mudras), facial expressions and body movements, with singers narrating the story.

Yakshagana, on the other hand, is a folk theatre tradition from Karnataka. It is far more theatrical, with spoken dialogues, singing, improvisation and energetic performances, making it a vibrant blend of dance, drama and storytelling.

I love creating pieces like these because they keep our traditional art forms alive in contemporary spaces. Every handcrafted piece is also an opportunity to spark curiosity and conversations about India's rich cultural heritage.

Some décor pieces are beautiful. Some tell a story.
And then there are those that quietly carry centuries of tradition.

In Indian culture, the horse has long been regarded as a symbol of strength, vitality, courage, prosperity, and forward momentum. It reminds us to keep moving ahead with purpose while remaining connected to our values.

Our homes shouldn't only reflect what we find beautiful.
They should also reflect what we believe in, where we come from, and the stories we want to preserve.

A home is more than four walls.
It's a space that reflects your story, your beliefs, and the traditions you choose to carry forward.

In Indian culture, the horse symbolizes strength, courage, progress, freedom, and success. It represents forward movement—an energy that inspires us to keep growing while staying grounded in our roots.

This piece is a celebration of Indian craftsmanship, vibrant folk art, and timeless heritage.

A beautiful space isn't created all at once. It's built, one thoughtful detail at a time.

A favourite planter.
A trailing vine.
A terracotta pot.
A cozy corner.
And then... a tiny hand-painted bird that makes you smile every time you walk past.

These cheerful Birdie Garden Stakes are proof that the smallest details often make the biggest difference. Tucked between your plants, they add colour, character, and a playful charm that instantly lifts the mood of your balcony, garden, or indoor planters.

Hand-painted with love and designed to bring a touch of whimsy wherever they perch, these little birdies are a reminder that joy often arrives in the smallest of forms. 🐦🌿
