I spent years watching myself hold back because I was my own harshest critic which unconsciously made me a gentler teacher. I realized that if I forced them to “just be positive,” I was ignoring their reality, their life and troubles. I was not acknowledging their sense of failure.
We don't "just get over it" or "stop worrying." Instead, we build a space where it is safe to be a work in progress. I show my students how to turn down the volume on that inner critic so their actual talent can finally be heard. Seeing that shift from "I'm not good enough" to "I'm learning" is exactly why I do this work.
If you’ve been holding yourself back because you’re afraid of not being perfect, I’d love to help you find your voice.
