✨The only thing missing to complete the historic look in the restoration of the Shri Ram Mandir in Parner - was a Peshwa period style ornate ceiling. Add handi lights, and the look is complete. Incorporate smaller LED lights for real time needs, and it’s more functional. A coat of fresh paint and we’re good to go !

P.S: nothing beats custom-made and improvised machaans and ladders !✨

Sardar Ambajipant Purandare family, Raja Shiv Chhatrapati Parivar (Pune Chapter) and Studio Gestalt successfully carried out a Cleanliness Campaign at the historic Purandare Wada in Saswad, MH.

The selfless, tireless efforts of more than 120 Maavlas and 15 senior Purandare family members on Mahashivratri, made this Mohim a great success.

We, at Studio Gestalt, dedicate our involvement as Coordinators and members of this Mohim, to the glory and memory of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on his Jayanti.

Salutations to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the symbol of courage, wisdom, and Swarajya🎉

Jamgaon is notable amongst the many important historic Maratha towns in the late medieval period. Granted to Patil-baba Shrimant Mahadji Scindia by the Peshwa for his bravery in the Third Battle of Panipat, Jamgaon was his headquarters in the Deccan. There he developed a large fortified town inside the Nagarkot and also built his own defensive Bhuikot Rajwada. This town had its temples, a mosque, stepwell and even a Bazar Peth.

It became an important site for Mahadji and the family. He adopted his heir Shrimant Daulatrao Scindia in this Rajwada. After receiving the Khilat from Delhi when he spent his last few years in the Pune region, he often stayed at Jamgaon. Later Jamgaon also saw skirmishes with the Peshwa, Holkar and British forces.

This Rajwada was donated to the Rayat Shikshan Sanstha years ago. But the rest of the ghostly town lies largely in a poor, abandoned condition. We were fortunate to visit it along with the Shrimant Kelkar family, who are historically associated with the Gwalior State.

A visit to the historic Holkar Chhatri w. H.H Shrimant Yuvraj Yeshwantrao lll Holkar near the Holkar Bridge in Khadki, Pune. This large site houses the historic Chhatris of Subhedar Tukojirao l Holkar and his son Sawai Malharrao Holkar. It also has a memorial stone dedicated to Subhedar Malharrao Holkar's faithful attendant Lakhya Bargir. The Holkar Subhedar and his vast troops would set up camp in this area along the Holkar Ghats, near the Mula river. Interestingly, the scenic Khadki War Cemetery lies just across the river, on the opposite banks.

This week we had the pleasure of hosting H.H Shrimant Yuvraj Yeshwantrao lll Holkar Bahadur at our office in Pune, MH. Amongst the many, many hats he wears - he is importantly Chairman, Khasgi Trust and Founder, Holkar Cultural Centre. Through them, he has been actively conserving and promoting the rich legacy of Lokmata Punyashlok Devi Ahilyabai Holkar and the Royal Holkars of Indore. We are honoured to be a small part of this movement and humbly, sensitively grow with it.

We continue our preservation of the precious 'Behere Diary'. The Behere family had served in the Banda and Jhansi principalities in various capacities during the late Maratha and British India periods. The Diary reflects a vast, strong Hindustani influence on a family of simple Marathi origins - a common theme with many ambitious, migrating Maharashtrian families of the 18th and 19th CE. The Behere Kul are Chitpavan Brahmins from the Konkan, of Babhravya Gotra. Members of the family undertook an exodus during the Peshwa period, to various regions of the Maratha Empire. Banda in the Bundelkhand was the Peshwas own familial principality, created by Shrimant Bajirao l Peshwa, and was ruled by his descendants - the Nawabs of Banda descended from Mastani Baisaheb.

From Ink Consolidation to avoid text loss to Tissue Lining that creates a protective layer for each folio and Strip Lining to reinforce the brittle edges of the pages- all prove instrumental in making the book live a safe longer life.

We have all heard the phrase ‘Raising the Roof’.In the medieval period, home builders in Europe would literally raise the roof to add an extra storey to a structure. Retrofitting contemporary requirements within historic roofing systems now, we truly admire the traditional craftsmen and their ingenuity.
