Let's reveal the story behind our samosas🤍

This one goes straight back to my childhood.
There was a small shop right in front of my house, and an uncle there would make samosas only once in a while. I loved them so much that I’d ask him every single day to make them. He always refused.

So I started watching.
Every day, from my window - quietly checking if today was the day. I could see everything: how he prepared the masala, folded the samosa, and gently dropped it into the oil.

The days he made samosas felt special. I'd stand at the window with money clenched in my hand, waiting. The moment he placed them on the plate, I'd run straight to his shop. That taste…I still remember it so clearly.

The shop isn't there anymore.
But whenever I go back home and meet that uncle, I still tell him how he made my childhood a little more flavourful.

With Swad Gharana's samosas, I tried to recreate that feeling - not just the taste, but the joy, the waiting, the excitement.
Hoping that when you take a bite, it reminds you of a small, beautiful piece of your own childhood too🤍✨

Sending out our first bulk order of 50 kachoris, just before the New Year 🥹
Hoping these little parcels of flavour add a bit more spice and warmth to someone's celebrations.

What makes this even more special is that it's a repeat customer- a small reminder that love and effort really do come back🤍

A big thank you to Kritika Jain for helping me with the packaging- couldn't have done it without you.

Feeling nothing but gratitude, excitement, and so much happiness.
Happy, happy, happy heart.

Wishing you all a very Happy New Year, filled with good food, good people, and beautiful beginnings✨

Our Story Behind Kachori

Since many of you already know the story of our cookies, I felt it was time to share the story of kachori - because every dish on the Swad Gharana page carries a story.

I belong to Madhya Pradesh, and I grew up eating kachori, samosa, and poha. It's not just food for us - it's in our blood. When I moved to Indore for my master's, like most hostel stories, I couldn't connect with hostel food. That's where my real foodie journey began. Eating kachori every weekend slowly became a ritual for me and my roommates - something we looked forward to, something that felt like home.

When I later moved to Pune, I missed that taste deeply. Every time I visited home, I would bring back kachoris - eating some myself and sharing the rest with people around me proudly introducing them to the flavours I grew up with. Eventually, that longing turned into a decision to make it myself and bring the authentic taste of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan to Pune.

I once hosted a small food stall, and we were sold out in just two hours. That's when I realised—kachori had found a permanent place in my heart, and on Swad Gharana's menu🤍

This dish is very close to my heart.
I made CHHOLE TIKKI, where the tikki is made completely from chhole - keeping all Jain values in mind and also making it rich in protein.

I first tried this recipe at my hometown during Diwali, especially for my mother.
She doesn't eat potato, onion, or garlic, and that's where this journey truly started.

One of the biggest reasons behind Swad Gharana is my MAA🤍
I want to create Jain versions of dishes so that people who follow Jainism can also enjoy flavorful food without compromising their values.

I'll definitely be coming up with many non-Jain veg recipes as well,
but the heart and priority of Swad Gharana will always be to bring Jain versions of dishes to the plate, made with love, care, and respect for the values behind them.

This recipe is MAA-approved, and today I am officially launching it at Swad Gharana - once again on my sister's birthday, making it even more special ✨

More such soulful recipes coming soon.
Stay tuned 💫

For me, this journey is therapy - and I’m learning, growing, and sharing
