// Aarunya Home //

The bathroom is always the last room on the list. The one that gets the leftover budget, the borrowed light, the finishes chosen in a hurry.

We think about it differently.
For Aarunya Home, we started with two questions: where does the light come from, and what does your hand touch first in the morning? The materials are all things that remember where they came from. Nothing laminated, nothing cladded, nothing pretending to be something it is not.
The dry area has a piece of art on the wall, because why shouldn’t it. A mirror with an imperfect, organic frame, because perfection is exhausting first thing in the morning.

It is a small space. But it is a considered one. And that, we have found, is the difference between a bathroom you use and one you actually want to be in.

// Wood Aura //

Soft natural light spilling across textured surfaces, casting ever-changing shadows that breathe life into the space.
Curved forms and soft edges create a sense of ease, making the space feel warm and natural. Designed as more than a showroom, this experience center lets you explore different kitchen styles in a way that feels intuitive and inspiring. 🌷

// The Kasumi Collection //

This collection captures the gentle beauty of mist, drawing its name from the Japanese word meaning “haze.” Like morning fog that softly touches mountain peaks, each piece flows with quiet elegance. The furniture embraces the Japanese idea of finding beauty in fleeting moments, through clean lines and organic shapes that seem to float in space.

Constructed from solid teak wood and upholstered with indigo-dyed cotton fabric, the chair exemplifies traditional Japanese wooden joinery in its screw-less assembly. Its back legs are meticulously carved from solid wood, embodying both elegance and artistry.

// The Kasumi pedestal lamp //

Expertly crafted to bring a touch of whimsy to any room. Its translucent fabric bathes spaces in a soft, golden glow, creating an enchanting ombre effect that captures the imagination.

This lamp’s unique charm lies in its dual-layered construction made in solid teak wood. The inner layer, made of plain white linen, gently diffuses the light, resulting in a serene and inviting atmosphere.

And it feels right to begin this post not with finished photographs… but with the hands that build our ideas into reality. 🪴
Architecture is never a solo act. Every drawing becomes a wall, every detail becomes a joint, and every vision becomes space because of the people on site, the contractors, craftsmen, and labourers who shape what we imagine.
We have come a long way from uncertain beginnings and small steps to projects that have taught us patience, resilience, and humility. Each space has been a classroom. Each challenge has made us stronger. Each collaboration has reminded us why we started. 🌸🫶🏻
Today is less about celebrating milestones and more about gratitude for our team, our clients who trust us, and the many hands that bring our work to life.
Here’s to building thoughtfully, learning endlessly, and staying true to the spirit of Basics.✨

Thank you for being part of this journey.

// Kasumi //

Our first collection of hand crafted furniture is finally here. Super excited to bring this to you! We have been working on this for a very long time now. All the pieces in this collection are one of a kind and hand crafted by artisans. There are no hinges or industrially driven materials. Made in solid wood and hand dyed cotton base the Kasumi collection celebrates the beauty of handmade.

// Marigold Room //

This bedroom was imagined as part of a boutique hotel renovation, where colour and material draw quietly from nature.

The warm terracotta ceiling, handcrafted furniture, and layered textiles were inspired by the softness and familiarity of marigold flowers, often overlooked, yet deeply rooted in our everyday rituals.

While the project currently exists only as a design proposal, the process, intention, and craft behind it remain central to how we work.

Stepping into 2026 with an unpopular opinion:

Ask every object: Who made you? How long will you last? Where do you go when I’m done with you?

Choose smaller footprints and bigger skies. Let gardens, courtyards, and balconies do the talking while architecture frames the view. Build only what you truly need, and invest in materials that age into beauty, not into landfill.

This is the kind of design Basics Studio stands for in 2026: fewer trends, more truth.
