Your bill does not drop because panels are on the roof. It drops because of the meter.

During the day you generate more than you use. The extra flows to the grid and the meter records it as credit. At night you draw back from the grid, and that credit is adjusted against what you take. You pay only the difference.

This is also why sizing matters. An oversized system exports power you earn very little on. The right system is sized to what you actually consume, not to what happens to fit on the roof.

Paper manufacturing runs on machines that do not stop. Every unit of that load was bought from the grid at a tariff that rises every year — while the roof above the shed sat empty.

Look at slide 2. The inverter reports generation data continuously, so if output drops the owner and we both see it early — not six months later when a bill looks wrong. That is the difference between a plant that is monitored and one that is simply installed.

A dealership runs on lights, compressors and a service workshop that cannot afford to stop. That load only moves in one direction, and so does the tariff.

Four rows on an RCC flat roof, mounted on an elevated tilted structure set on concrete pedestals. Two things that buys you. The panels sit at the correct tilt instead of lying flat. And the roof underneath stays usable, with every row reachable for cleaning — which is what stops generation quietly dropping year after year.

Slide 2 is the electrical side. Conduit run straight, every joint clipped, danger label in place.

Your solar will switch off during load shedding. Yes, really.

An on-grid system disconnects the moment the grid fails. It is a safety rule, not a fault. It stops your panels pushing power onto a dead line while a lineman is working on it.

You still save every month, because solar runs whenever the grid is on. If you want power during cuts, that needs a battery — more cost, and it runs selected loads only.

Anyone promising backup on a normal on-grid system is not telling you the truth.

Everyone asks about ₹78,000. Here is the real number.

The PM Surya Ghar subsidy is slab-based, not flat. ₹30,000 for 1 kW, ₹60,000 for 2 kW, ₹78,000 for 3 kW and above.

Two things people are not told clearly. It is credited directly to your bank account after your system is commissioned — it is not deducted from the price upfront. And the amount depends on the system size your actual consumption justifies, not on what sounds good in a quotation.
