We wanted the wood to remain part of the experience, not disappear underneath the upholstery.

So the frame stays honest and expressive, while the fabric does what it does best, soften the edges and make the sofa inviting. Look closer and you find the smaller decisions too, the turned feet, the woven side panels, the proportions of the arms and the generous depth of the cushions.

There’s a small detail on the back of the Kalon Swivel that could easily have been left out.

We kept it.

The carved wood panel sits between the metal rods, carrying a flowing pattern inspired by natural grain and adding another tactile layer to the chair.

It is not the first thing you notice. That is precisely why we like it.

Two designers. One experience centre and way too many opinions….

When Valentine and Pritika first started planning the experience centre, there was a lot to decide. Some ideas stayed. Some got moved around and one was definitely discussed more than once.

But eventually, the felling started falling into place.

This week wasn’t glamorous.

It was loud. Dusty. Heavy. Fast. Sometimes messy.
But this is our favourite part of design.

Watching an empty shell slowly become a place that reflects who we are. Every wall installed, every piece positioned, every light adjusted, every finish checked until it felt right.

The first sketch was about three circles, their proportions, their heights and how they could sit together.

But somewhere along the way, the connecting rod became just as important as the surfaces themselves.
