You’re a dietitian... but you eat sweets? 🍰
Yes. I do. And I’m done feeling like I need to justify it.
Being a dietitian doesn’t mean living on a “perfect” diet 365 days a year. I enjoy food. I have dessert. I eat out. I get cravings — and sometimes I eat something simply because I love it.
Does that make me bad at my job? Not even close.
My job isn’t to be the food police — not for my clients, and not for myself. It’s to help people build a healthy relationship with food, not a fearful one.
Because health isn’t decided by one dessert or one indulgent day. It’s shaped by your whole pattern — what you eat most of the time, how you move, how you sleep, and how consistent you are over the long run.
So yes — I’m a dietitian, I love food, and I love sweets once in a while. That’s not hypocrisy. That’s food freedom.
👉 To my fellow dietitians and nutrition folks: how do YOU answer this question? Drop it in the comments — I’d love to compare notes.
And if this reframed something for you, save this post for the next time someone side-eyes your dessert order, and share it with a friend who needs to hear it. 🍫
