About Icelandic Down

A family-run company based in the fjords of Borgarfjörður eystri, Iceland. Our mission is simple: to share the wonders of eiderdown with discerning customers across the world while staying true to the legacy of our ancestors. We follow traditional, sustainable practices that protect the natural environments, wildlife, and rural communities of Iceland.

The secret to better sleep lies in nature.

Eiderdown is nature’s softest, most weightless insulating material, offering extraordinary comfort for undisturbed rest.

Gathered by hand from abandoned nests in Iceland’s fjords, it is crafted into bespoke bedding, made just for you.

Sleep blissfully with Icelandic eiderdown.

As 2025 ends and 2026 is just around the corner, I want to thank everyone who has been part of Icelandic Down — our customers, our former and current team, our trusted eiderdown farmers, and the steadfast eider ducks.

We’re proud of what has been built and grateful for those who helped build it.

Thank you for your support. We look forward to what 2026 brings.

Happy New Year ✨

We hand-gather Eiderdown in the wild fjords and remote islands of Iceland. All of our Eiderdown is cleaned following rigorous, seven-step processes - with zero harm caused to the natural environment, or the eider ducks for that matter.

“We rarely write a review ... but when someone delivers excellence the way Ragna and her company do, it would be absolutely inhumane not to call it to the attention of the world."

This is the start of one of our most valued review written. It is safe to say that Icelandic Down wouldn’t exist without our loyal customers.

Eiderdown thrives on simplicity.
Air it gently, avoid frequent washing, and it will keep its natural resilience for decades.

The winter retreat.
Throughout winter, the eider ducks remain at sea, where food is accessible and the shores lie quiet.
