Today, May 13th at 6:00 PM,
the exhibition “Climate Change Architecture • ACTIONS” opens at Casa del Mantegna in Mantova.

Curated by Matteo Moscatelli and Elena Montanari for Mantovarchitettura 2026, the exhibition explores the actions developed by contemporary architecture to address the consequences of climate change.

The event presents 26 projects realized over the last 15 years, alongside 4 twentieth-century case studies, representing different forms of adaptation and mitigation explored through architectural, urban, and landscape design.

We are pleased to participate with the project for Piazza Cortevecchia alongside such important authors and projects, contributing to the ongoing discourse on how design can respond to and manage climate change.

Casa in Borgo dei Leoni, Ferrara

The renovation project was conceived with the aim of restoring residential quality and architectural coherence to a dwelling unit located in a context of high historical value in the centre of Ferrara, just a few steps from the Castello Estense. The intervention was developed through a dual approach: on the one hand, enhancing the original elements of the building; on the other, introducing design solutions capable of improving functionality, natural light and the overall use of the spaces.

Redevelopment of Piazza Mercato and the construction of a multifunctional covered structure in Montegrotto Terme / Competition proposal / II Prize among 158 entries

We propose a cohesive sequence of interconnected public spaces: the Market Gardens, the Square with its new covered structure, and finally the new Market Park. A progression of places, each defined by its own character and function, that together bring an important transformation of the site.

The covered square forms the heart of the project: a 25 × 35 metre void defined by a lightweight structure with large spans, designed to ensure maximum flexibility of use.The canopy, supported by six columns, is conceived as a thin, technological plane; its mirrored metal ceiling reflects the colors of the park and the misting water emitted from a grid of flush nozzles, transforming at night into a starry sky through an integrated pattern of lights.

Come ricordato dal sindaco, il progetto è frutto della collaborazione tra diverse realtà: Comune, Ferrara Sviluppo Imprese, associazioni di categoria di commercio e servizi (Ascom, Confesercenti, Confartigianato e Cna), Camera di Commercio di Ferrara e Ravenna, INOUT architettura, Dipartimento di Economia e Management dell’Università di Ferrara.
Alla base dell’hub, infatti, vi è la costituzione di sinergie e accordi che permettano di mettere a sistema interventi di riqualificazione già programmati e venturi, nuovi servizi e iniziative imprenditoriali, incanalandoli in un percorso di rivitalizzazione sotto il profilo economico, turistico, commerciale, promozionale del capoluogo, tenendo conto del suo contesto urbanistico, paesaggistico, culturale e demografico.

The Geological Landscape
The large covered space is enriched with evocative references to the unique landscape of the Euganean Hills, becoming a narrative and cultural place, deeply connected to its territory. The smooth ground is punctuated by stone inlays that recall the extraordinary geological complexity of this landscape—ancient volcanic islands rising from layers of calcareous sedimentary rock.

A sequence of large stones, ranging from Rosso Ammonitico to Biancone, from Marna to Trachite -is arranged between the covered square and the tree-lined plaza, forming a continuous seating element. Laid out in chronological order, these stones make visible the geological references embedded in the paving and narrate the orogenesis of the hills.
