[Porcelain hand-built vases]
These are some of the results of the work I’ve been focusing on over the past few weeks.
When working with porcelain, especially when creating vases, I’m interested in exploring the boundary between what a material is and what it appears to be—challenging the very nature of porcelain itself.
I find it fascinating that a material so hard and permanent can retain the memory of surfaces that are typically flexible, light, and ever-changing.
I love the ambiguity this material can evoke once fired: from a distance, the object appears soft, but as you move closer, you discover it is porcelain, with all its inherent fragility and strength.
The pure, bright white of porcelain, enhanced by its translucency, evokes textures that seem to belong to other worlds, far beyond that of fabric alone; it reminds me of sugar crystals and snow. It is a material that engages more than just sight—it is a material that demands to be touched, and for me, even touches upon the sense of taste.

[Vasi in porcellana realizzati a mano libera]
