Guglielmo Ulrich, a graduate of the newly founded Architecture University at Politecnico di Milano, studied under Gaetano Moretti and Piero Portaluppi. In 1930, Guglielmo Ulrich founded the company Ar.Ca: Arredamento Casa, for which he would design furniture. In the early stages of Italian industrial production, Ulrich chose to create one-of-a-kind furniture and objects for an elite clientele. During these years, Ulrich became the trusted architect of Milan's upper class: his clients included names such as Mondadori, Agnelli, Visconti, Gavazzi, and Dubini. From 1932 onwards, Ulrich participated in the Triennale Design Museums, becoming a reserved but important figure in the Milanese furniture scene. His fame was further enhanced by the numerous reviews published in Domus magazine. In the 1960s, Ulrich began to expand into industrial production.
