ATELIER VISITS,
Sagarminaga

We had the pleasure of visiting SAGARMINAGA ATELIER in Bilbao, where we are currently working on a bespoke piece for Jacinta, our new Mexican restaurant at Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra, Mallorca

Jacinta Mallorca continues the story of Jacinta de México , also designed by us. This time, the challenge was to bring Jacinta’s original codes into a new setting, combining its Mexican identity with the sophistication of Mandarin Oriental and the craft and calm of Mallorca.

It was within this meeting of identities that Sagarminaga’s work felt particularly relevant. Her approach to natural materials, craft and experimentation was very aligned with the direction we wanted to take Jacinta.

Together, for this project, we decided to create an agave sculpture for Jacinta, an icon connected to Mexico and explored through Sagarminaga’s material language.

This year at Salone del Mobile, we didn't just go see design. We let the city pull us in. We got our hands dirty and somewhere between exhibitions, hidden courtyards and unexpcted doorways, Milan started to make sense to us in a different way.

Introducing our latest project Romanengo Via Manzoni, in the heart of Milan.

This project marks a new chapter for the brand, expressing its identity through a more refined and architectural approach to interior design.

As long-time design partners, we are honored to have been shaping Romanengo’s spaces since its first confetteria, developing a shared language over time. This project reflects a step forward in our own approach; simpler, more precise, and defined by a carefully curated selection of elements. We express our signature through restraint, allowing certain areas to remain intentionally open so the quality of the materials can stand out and enhance what is already there.

This project brings together two shared ways of thinking: Romanengo’s "natura custodita in un gesto" (the transformation of raw elements into refined creations) and our "universe of sketch" where, for us, every idea begins also with a simple gesture, a sketch.

Over time, this shared approach has shaped both our evolution and theirs; rooted in the belief that everything essential starts from the same place.
