Colour & texture 🇮🇳

From Ladakh to Kashmir to Rajasthan, a journey that reveals itself in surfaces before form. Rammed earth, lime, local stone, hand-dyed textiles: each technique tells the story of a territory that has learned to answer its own climate, its own light, its own constraints.

Not styles to import, but building logics to listen to; tradition as method, not as aesthetic.

Architecture, space and light 🇮🇳

In Ladakh, raw earth remains the most intelligent response to climate: cool in summer, able to hold warmth through winter. Wooden staircases mark the vertical rhythm of the houses, built on the same logic for centuries.

In Srinagar, Kashmir, architecture is layered: wood and stone alternate in a building technique that is both structure and memory, with intricately carved woodwork that is entirely unique to the region.

In Jaipur, finally, it’s the delicate decorations and colours that define the space: ornament as an integral part of construction, not an addition.

Three territories, three different answers to the same question: how to build in harmony with light, space and one’s own place.

Everyday objects 🟡 The most authentic forms are often those that bear no signature. Copper utensils, wooden benches, woollen rugs: products crafted by local artisans, blending tradition with modernity, born of use and perfected through repetition.

On my travels from Ladakh to Kashmir and Rajasthan, it is precisely these simple, functional and timeless objects that teach me about design and respect for craft processes.

Laundry room is where a home actually begins 🟡 It’s the room that keeps everything else running: clean, ordered, dignified. I think it deserves the same care, the same thought, the same materials and colors as any other space in the house.

Dignity starts in the places no one photographs.

Except when they do beautifully:

For several years now, we are doing a research into the regeneration of materials: waste powders from clay, stone and glass, which are given a new lease of life. Through the process and the form, the final result highlights the imperfection, density and poetry of the material, as well as the desire to touch it.

This is Dock: a small and light domestic structures to be touched and truly used. And every space needs a fixed point. A silent object on which to rest something: a glass, a book..that find its place beside the sofa, the bed, the armchair.

Multiple cuts, a single origin 🟡 from the 26×26 module of the ‘riggiola’ (a typical Neapolitan tile) emerge 44 distinct shapes… an alphabet for composing and recomposing your own surface.

“Tatamino is an intimate piece that adapts the bed to contemporary needs: a functional and flexible structure that invites you to personalise, adapt and truly inhabit your own resting corner.

Tatamino consists of a metal frame with joints secured by bolts. Everything is strictly handmade in the Lispi tradition. The modularity allows you to use one or two tatami units to create your configurations.

You can choose to furnish Tatamino with a material or padded headboard, or with micro-holes into which to insert wooden shelves and hooks. The top of the headboard can serve as a shelf or a desk, depending on your needs. In short, good night… but also have a good day!” Marialaura

PafPaf began as a chair: simple, honest, immediately itself.

Now it grows into a family of poufs and footrests in different heights and dimensions, all sharing the same DNA: a generous upholstered cushion sitting on solid ash legs turned with Mattiazzi’s industrial precision.

Wood and textile. Structure and softness.
Two materials that need each other.
