I learnt about the pause feature on iPhone video yesterday and thought I’d give it a try. It’s so cool, no need to edit clips, just pause and resume with the next frame. I may be late to the party but I’m my defence, I rarely use my phone to shoot videos. 😬

The season of silk sarees is here! The festive season began here with Varmahalakshmi, last Friday. I genuinely look forward to this time of the year with so many opportunities to bring out the beautiful silks. Hehe. I always forget to take pictures, these are a few from over the years / when I had to take pictures for a shoot. This year I intend to document every saree outfit, hope I remember; I forgot to do so on Friday. 🙄

Not that I do anything extra, my draping is simple and my blouses are simply stitched. I wear one highlight piece of jewellery. I feel that the sarees are so gorgeous, they don’t need much around them. I love the Kanjeevarams and Dharmavarams but my favourite of all time will always be Mysore Silk. The way it just drapes and falls… love! And so so comfortable.

Next on my list is a beautiful Banarasi silk, I don’t have one. What’s your favourite weave?

I can live on salads! And I actually love putting together this rather simple one for a quick meal. Baby spinach, orange segments and lightly toasted walnuts for that crunch. Top it with a simple vinaigrette dressing and we are good to go. Soft boiled eggs for creaminess and protein.

What about you? Salad person or not?

Also, how good is the Dutch oven for one pot meals?! It’s actually perfect for a no-fuss cook like me. Put it all in and relax while the magic happens. 😁

I usually try to avoid having our babies in pictures that are going up on the gram, call me superstitious but when it comes to them I feel ki nazar lag jayegi. 🙈
Nevertheless, put good nazar people, ok? Hehe.

We had to buy a new carpet because Kulfi went sick all over our old one, bloody p**p and all. Sweet girl is doing fine now and has made this her new favourite spot. And Happy has a new bum scratcher. 😂 Rafa and June are couch people, so new rugs don’t matter to them so much.

Amma has always had a gift for turning ordinary days into special memories with her food—from childhood lunchbox surprises to the perfect “welcome home” meal after my travels.
Now, I don’t cook as much but I wanted to do this for her because that’s how much I love her! Hehe. And she totally loved the creamy vegetables and salad fare I put together for her.

And I genuinely enjoyed making it because would you look at that Dutch oven from ?! Their new almond colour is so gorgeous! Now who wouldn’t want to cook in that?! I’m in love with the colour. Which one is your favourite colour from all of Ember’s shades? Tell me in comments.
