How much can a single tessera influence an entire mosaic?

A new bespoke mosaic project is coming to life, reinterpreting the timeless design of vintage cars through natural stone, marble and carefully selected colours.
Shades of green, beige and blue come together in a composition where every cut, colour transition and material combination contributes to defining the original shapes, proportions and details.

What do you think is more challenging in mosaic art: capturing the perfect shape or finding the right balance between colours and materials?

Quanto può influenzare una singola tessera l’intera composizione di un mosaico?

Un nuovo progetto di mosaico su misura sta prendendo forma, reinterpretando il design senza tempo delle auto d’epoca attraverso pietra naturale, marmo e tonalità accuratamente selezionate.

Sfumature di verde, beige e blu si incontrano in una composizione in cui ogni taglio, transizione cromatica e combinazione di materiali contribuisce a definire le forme, le proporzioni e i dettagli originali.

The final countdown begins🙌🏻

La Plus Belle Matrice, the monumental mosaic installation Friul Mosaic will present at Design Miami in Paris, is entering its final stage of production.

Months of research, material experimentation and technical development are coming together, transforming the original design concept into a three-dimensional work of art.

Soon, La Plus Belle Matrice will leave our atelier for Paris, where it will be unveiled to the public.

La Plus Belle Matrice moves closer to its unveiling in Paris.

Inside the Friul Mosaic atelier, the installation is progressively evolving into its final form through a continuous dialogue between mosaic craftsmanship, material research and experimentation.
Conceived to move beyond the surface, La Plus Belle Matrice develops into a three-dimensional experience, where scale, depth and materiality reveal themselves as you move around the artwork.

Preparations continue as we get ready for our next destination: Paris.

The making of La Plus Belle Matrice🙌🏻

The creation of the installation explores the concept of origin as an aesthetic, emotional and architectural gesture.
INew techniques, complex geometries and carefully studied andamento are developed to allow the mosaic to move beyond the idea of surface or decoration and become architectural matter.
Traditional mosaic craftsmanship meets new technical solutions, developed specifically to respond to the scale and complexity of the artwork. A process where expertise, experimentation and attention to detail become essential to translating an idea into matter.

This year, Friul Mosaic presents the installation at Design Miami , one of the world’s leading international events dedicated to collectible design.

The Making of La Plus Belle Matrice.

La creazione dell’installazione esplora il concetto di origine come gesto estetico, emotivo e architettonico.
Nuove tecniche, geometrie complesse e andamenti attentamente studiati vengono sviluppati per permettere al mosaico di superare il concetto di superficie o decorazione e diventare materia architettonica.
La tradizione artigianale del mosaico incontra nuove soluzioni tecniche, sviluppate appositamente per rispondere alla scala e alla complessità dell’opera. Un processo in cui competenza, sperimentazione e attenzione al dettaglio diventano essenziali per tradurre un’idea in materia.

Quest’anno Friul Mosaic presenta l’installazione a Design Miami , uno dei principali appuntamenti internazionali dedicati al collectible design.
