Beauty is not a luxury. It is a biological language.
There are images, colors, and forms that our body recognizes even before the mind can define them.
Something almost imperceptible happens when a surface truly enters into dialogue with our sensitivity.
Time seems to slow down.
The gaze lingers.
Breathing becomes softer, without us even noticing.
These are small inner shifts, yet deeply transformative, changing the way we inhabit a space.
Perhaps this is why some environments make us feel at home immediately.
Not because they are perfect.
But because, in some way, they resemble us.

Every drawing begins with listening.
Before becoming a pattern, a wallpaper is a constellation of intuitions:
a rhythm observed in nature,
a memory,
a light moving across a room,
a feeling that resists language.
To draw is to translate all of this into a visual language.
I do not simply aim to create something beautiful.
I try to create something that feels familiar, even to those who are seeing it for the first time.
Because the images that move us rarely speak only to the eyes.

Neuroaesthetics teaches us that the brain is in constant dialogue with visual stimuli.
For this reason, I design each collection not only in terms of how it will look,
but in terms of how it will be experienced.

What we see every day becomes part of who we are.
The images that inhabit our walls are never just a backdrop.
They take part in our experience of living.
They move through conversations,
through moments of stillness,
through difficult days,
through the arrival of new ideas.
This is why I believe design is never only about objects.
It is about the way we decide to inhabit life itself.

Drawing has never been just drawing.
It is the way I found to give form to what I could not express in words.
Since I was a child, color has been my secret language. A place to retreat into, to imagine, to rebuild worlds.
Even today, every time I begin a new drawing, something quietly happens.
Time slows down.
Thoughts soften.
Lines begin to search for one another, to meet, to create relationships.
And as a composition takes shape, so does a sense of harmony.
As if chaos were finally finding form.
I believe this is the true magic of creativity: transforming what we carry within into something that can be shared.
Because a pattern, a color, or an image is never just decoration.
They are emotions finding a home.
And my deepest desire is to keep creating worlds that can awaken in others the same sense of wonder I feel when I imagine them.

First it is an emotion. Then it becomes an image. Finally, a space to live in.
Every collection begins with an atmosphere, with a feeling that is difficult to put into words. The moodboard gathers its essence, the design gives it form, and the space receives it.
Neuroaesthetics teaches us that what surrounds us influences our well-being more than we imagine.
For this reason, I do not simply design wallpapers.
I design emotions meant to become part of everyday life.

Creativity begins with observation.
Many of the shapes I draw already exist.
In a garden.
In a stone worn smooth by the sea.
In the structure of a leaf.
Nature possesses a visual intelligence that continues to teach us how to create harmony.
I simply try to translate that language onto the walls of our homes.

Every course leaves something behind.

Not only drawings, concepts, and wallpaper collections, but conversations, discoveries, doubts, breakthroughs, and moments of courage.

Over these semester at IED Torino, I had again the privilege of accompanying a group of young designers as they transformed blank pages into stories, ideas into patterns, and visions into collections.

Teaching is never only about sharing knowledge. It is about witnessing growth. It is about seeing someone find their voice and learning to trust it.

This video is a small glimpse of that journey.

To my students, thank you for your curiosity, your dedication, and the unique perspective each of you brought into the classroom. You reminded me once again that creativity flourishes when we dare to explore, question, and imagine.

And that every pattern begins with a single mark on a page.
