Insieme ai ragazzi di RAPS abbiamo progettato una nuova gastronomia e rosticceria, all’interno di un edificio storico nel centro di Udine.

A pochi passi dal loro primo locale, lo spazio prende forma attraverso un intervento delicato, il mantenimento dell’importante altezza interna, ripristino degli infissi originali, pareti attrezzate di colore neutro pensate per lasciare il prodotto al centro.

Il servizio ruota tutto intorno al grande banco tecnico in acciaio. Piccoli dettagli e tocchi di colore danno ritmo all’ambiente.

Together with the RAPS team, we designed a new delicatessen and rotisserie inside a historic building in the centre of Udine.

A few steps from their first location, the space takes shape through a delicate intervention: the important internal height has been preserved, the original window frames restored, and neutral fitted walls have been designed to keep the product at the centre.

The service revolves around the large technical steel counter. Small details and touches of colour bring rhythm to the space.

Design the service, then the room.

Al Vitello d’Oro, il ristorante più antico di Udine, la continuità si gioca nei gesti.

Il progetto è partito dall'osservare ciò che accade ogni giorno: la gestualità del servizio, le distanze tra i tavoli, le abitudini di chi lavora, i riti di chi torna.

Spostare l’ingresso principale al centro dei percorsi interni ha cambiato il primo gesto dell’accoglienza: una soglia da cui il ristorante si apre e si orienta. La divisione storica in tre sale è rimasta, ma ognuna di esse ha acquisito un nuovo carattere. Serramenti ad arco in rame brunito, vetro e velluto blu creano privacy, lasciano correre lo sguardo e accompagnano il passaggio del servizio. Il camino, visibile già dall’ingresso, segna il punto focale della sala. Accanto, uno dei tavoli più intimi e più richiesti del ristorante.

Migliorare ciò che già funziona, onorando la memoria del luogo. Dal 1849.

At Vitello d’Oro, the oldest restaurant in Udine, continuity lives in gestures.

The project began by observing what happens every day: the gestures of service, the distances between tables, the habits of those who work there, the rituals of those who return.

Moving the main entrance to the centre of the restaurant’s internal circulation changed the first gesture of hospitality: a threshold from which the restaurant opens up and becomes easier to navigate. The historic division into three rooms has remained, but each has acquired a new character. Arched frames in burnished copper, glass and blue velvet create privacy, allow views to flow through the space and support the movement of the service. The fireplace, visible from the entrance, marks the focal point of the dining room. Beside it sits one of the restaurant’s most intimate and sought-after tables.

A meeting room that works all day.

Una sala riunioni usata due ore al giorno è metratura ferma.
Per Chiurlo, l’abbiamo ripensata come uno spazio corporate che cambia passo durante la giornata: riunioni, lavoro informale, pause, conversazioni.

Ispirata alle sale d’attesa degli aeroporti anni Cinquanta, lavora sul tempo lungo: luce, comfort acustico e una tenda che compare quando serve.

Un solo spazio. Più modi di abitarlo.

A meeting room used for two hours a day is just dead space.
For Chiurlo, we reimagined it as a corporate space that shifts its purpose throughout the day: meetings, informal work, breaks, conversations.

Inspired by 1950s airport lounges, it works around longer stays: light, acoustic comfort and a curtain that appears when needed.

One space. More ways to inhabit it.

A summer state of altitude.

Agosto, e il pensiero ci porta in quota.
Baita Pié Tofana, Cortina d'Ampezzo.

Il verde dei prati intorno, l'aria che cambia con l'altitudine, l'apertura sulle Dolomiti.

Dentro, la boiserie in abete sabbiato riveste pareti e soffitto. Fuori, la facciata in larice naturale e la terrazza che diventa una stanza a cielo aperto.

August, and the mind heads for the heights.

The green of the surrounding meadows, the air that shifts with altitude, the opening onto the Dolomites.

Inside, sandblasted fir panelling clads the walls and ceiling. Outside, the natural larch façade and the terrace that becomes an open-air room.

Some tastings deserve a morning after.

A Vigne del Malina, l’ospitalità continua anche dopo l’orario di apertura della cantina. L’osteria si accende, il tempo rallenta e le camere accolgono gli ospiti fino al mattino, quando la campagna circostante è la prima cosa che si vede dalla finestra.

I soffitti con travi a vista, ognuno tinto in una tonalità diversa, diventano la firma cromatica delle camere. Come in una grande dimora di campagna l’utilizzo di materiali naturali quali il legno di rovere, la pietra grigia e i tessuti di lino parlano di quiete, delicatezza e rispetto del contesto.

At Vigne del Malina, hospitality continues beyond the winery’s visiting hours. The osteria lights up, time slows down, and the rooms welcome guests until morning, when the surrounding countryside is the first thing seen from the window.

The exposed beam ceilings, each painted in a different shade, become the chromatic signature of the rooms. Like in a large country house, natural materials such as oak wood, grey stone and linen fabrics speak of quietness, delicacy and respect for the context.

Progetta uno spazio che si muove e ne avrai due.

Átipico Room #15 a Singapore è il primo locale dello chef Matteo Pertoldi al piano terra di New Bahru, nuovo polo creativo della città.

Un panificio e ristorante aperto tutto il giorno, concepito come uno spazio ibrido che si trasforma con le ore, attraverso elementi mobili che cambiano l’uso dello spazio senza cambiarne l’identità: la parete espositiva che si apre e si chiude, la vetrina dei dolci con il coperchio scorrevole, la luce regolabile, gli arredi modulari.

Design a space that moves and you have two.

Átipico Room #15 in Singapore, the first venue of chef Matteo Pertoldi on the ground floor of New Bahru, a creative hub of the city.

An all-day bakery and restaurant, conceived as a hybrid space that transforms across the day, through movable elements that change how the space is used without changing its identity: a display wall that opens and closes, a pastry case with a sliding cover, adjustable light, modular furniture.

Travi antiche sospese sopra un nuovo pavimento.

Nell'Abbazia di Rosazzo la sala degustazione della cantina Livio Felluga trova spazio nell'incontro tra la struttura storica e l'intervento progettuale, che ne raccoglie il carattere e ci innesta il contemporaneo.

Le cementine a scacchiera ridisegnano il piano con una geometria netta, sotto il legno antico del tetto. Il paravento specchiante raddoppia la luce delle finestre e porta la sala dentro il suo riflesso.

Original beams above a new floor.

At the Abbazia di Rosazzo, the tasting room of the Livio Felluga winery takes shape where the inherited structure meets the new design, which gathers its character and grafts the contemporary onto it.

Cement tiles in a checkerboard pattern redraw the floor with a clean geometry, beneath the aged timber of the roof. The mirrored screen doubles the light from the windows and draws the room into its own reflection.

Staged like a theatre.

La Dorbolò Gubana Boutique di Cividale del Friuli è concepita come una scenografia teatrale: il progetto decide dove guarda il cliente, cosa entra in scena per primo, dove rallenta.

Le quinte sagomate color nocciola guidano lo sguardo per gradi: vani da scoprire, alcove dove fermarsi, e in fondo il bancone con il logo in ottone. Al centro, dentro le teche, la gubana delle Valli del Natisone tiene la scena. Pietra grigia, ottone lucido, lampade su misura in ottone e vetro opalino.

Per loro stiamo preparando una nuova scenografia... che arriverà presto a Udine!

The Dorbolò Gubana Boutique in Cividale del Friuli is designed like a theatrical set: the design decides where the customer looks, what comes into view first, where the pace slows down.

The hazelnut shaped stage wings guide the eye step by step: spaces to discover, alcoves to linger in, and at the back the counter with the brass logo. At the center, inside the display cases, the Gubana from the Natisone Valleys takes center stage. Gray stone, polished brass, custom lamps in brass and opal glass.

A new set design is on its way to Udine... stay tuned!
