WHAT IS ZEN - "Zen" is the Japanese pronunciation of ch'an, from the Sanskrit dhyāna.
It's usually translated as "meditation," but it's not meditation as we understand it.

In Zen, there's no reflection on a theme.
There's no cultivation of a thought.
There's no seeking a result.

Zazen meditation simply means "sitting."

Without asking for anything.
Without expecting anything.
