Dear Customers,

Please be aware that CCTV is in operation across our site. We are able to identify all instances of fly tipping.

If an item is refused, we kindly ask that it is taken to a designated recycling centre or the appropriate disposal facility. Unfortunately, we are not able to dispose of these items on your behalf.

This has become an increasing issue, and we must be clear that fly tipping on our site will not be tolerated. Any incidents will be reported and could result in further action.

We appreciate your cooperation and respectfully ask all customers to help us keep the site safe, clean and operating for everyone.

Free Bike Check-Up!

Pop down and see the Acorn mechanics from 9am–12pm on Sunday 14th June at Cyril Le Marquand Court, for a free bike check. Adults' and children’s bikes all welcome.

We’ll give your cycle a quick safety check, including tyres, chain, gears, brakes and frame, with minor adjustments where needed to keep everything running smoothly.
The team will also be on hand to offer maintenance advice and answer any questions you might have.

No booking needed, just drop by. There may be a short wait if we’re busy.

As we reach the halfway point of celebrating National Volunteer Week, we’re reflecting on the incredible impact volunteering has here at Acorn.

When your team join us for a CSR day, you might not realise just how much of a difference it makes. Your support helps us continue our mission of providing work and training opportunities for Islanders with disabilities or long-term health conditions, building skills, confidence and taking meaningful steps towards employment.

You also help us tackle large tasks that would otherwise take much longer, keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

Volunteering has such a unique impact and we are so grateful for everyone who supports us.

Happy National Volunteer Week!

To every volunteer and supporter, thank you for the difference you make. Your kindness, hard work and commitment help us continue our mission of providing work and training opportunities to Islanders who have a disability or long-term health condition and support our community every day.

A huge shoutout to our amazing JET Ambassadors who also give their time to support, inspire and create real change in our community.

Even small amounts of time help keep essential services running. Whether it’s sorting donations or helping behind the scenes, those hours add up to something truly meaningful.

Were You Missing a Leg…? 🐯

Last Saturday in the Acorn Reuse shop, a customer fell in love with a purr-fectly lovely wooden 'tiger table'.

However, it had only three legs (and three tiger feet, of course!). We launched a search mission across Reuse. Sadly… no luck. The missing limb had padded off into the unknown. 🐾

Enter Ian Florence, hero of the hour, who whisked the table off to the Woodshack to measure it up for a custom-made “prosthetic paw” crafted from scrap wood.

But here’s where the tale takes a twist…
Today… we found the original missing leg. 😱

Talk about a leg-endary comeback!
We didn’t catch the customer’s name, but if you’re out there enjoying your newly re-legged tiger table and fancy a bonus original limb, please pop back to the Woodshack — it’s waiting to be reunited!

Not only did the Ocorian team roll up their sleeves for a volunteering CSR Day, but the Ocorian Charitable Trust has also made a generous contribution to our Acorn Reuse Internship Programme.

This support helps empower our clients to build skills, confidence and take meaningful steps towards employment, by combining environmental sustainability with social impact to support Islanders who have a disability or long-term health condition. ♻️

Look out for our shiny new electric van on Island roads!

It has been very generously sponsored by the Jersey Community Foundation.

This is a great step for the environment. Instead of using diesel, we are using energy from our own solar panels on two of our Acorn buildings to charge the van.

The van will make our collection and delivery service even more efficient.
