Acorn Woodshack recently crafted 30 wooden planters for the beautiful new garden at Maison des Amis, which officially opened last month.

The new specialist nursing facility in Trinity provides dedicated care and support for people with learning disabilities.

Acorn Commercial Manager Darren Arnold said: ‘It's been a lovely worthwhile project to be part of. We are delighted that Les Amis approached us for their planters. We hope the new residents of the home enjoy them for many years to come.’

This year’s St. Martin’s Charity Bonfire Night is raising funds for three fantastic local charities, and we’d love to introduce you to the organisations your support will help.

First up is Acorn Enterprises

Acorn is the social enterprise arm of the Jersey Employment Trust, providing work and training opportunities for Islanders who have a disability or long-term health condition.

Through its Reuse Centre, Woodshack and Plant Nursery, Acorn helps people develop practical skills, build confidence, gain valuable work experience and take positive steps towards employment and greater independence.

Every purchase, donation and fundraising initiative helps Acorn continue creating opportunities, breaking down barriers and supporting Islanders to reach their full potential.

By coming along to St. Martin’s Charity Bonfire Night, you’ll be helping to support this wonderful local organisation, alongside Freeda Jersey and Caring Cooks of Jersey

Christmas has come early!
We would like to thank Romerils for their support in the purchase of this new Bosch mitre saw for the Acorn Woodshack.
Our old one was no longer safe for use and had to be replaced quickly. This has been done with minimal interruption.
Here's Woodshack supervisor David Senior setting it up.
