Incredible proud of our new team member Fatima who created this traditional decorative piece after only one training with the magnificent of .design.

Salua’s personal passion is to revive old weaving patterns and together we organised a training funded by . And this is the result! How beautiful is this?!

Fatima about her 6 months training: “At the beginning of the training, I thought it would be difficult and that I wouldn’t master it. I expected I would give up, but thank God, after the training, I fell in love with this handicraft, especially since it focuses on reviving Jordanian heritage and preserving it from extinction. I gained excellent experience, and I’m still learning and acquiring new things. I’ve become capable of managing this project myself, and I now have complete confidence in my work and achievements.”

16 years - wow!

I started just with 50 JOD and the intention to create a pretty bag. Didn’t know the language, no idea where it would take me and the weaving women I connected with.

Now 16 years later:
* I chat my Bedu Arabic like no other 😅
* we expand into two new communities thanks to
* we solved our material supply - so unlimited growth possible
* we are creating new designs with other textile waste
* we expanded our network from Petra and Udhruh to Aqaba, Amman, Dubai, Italy, Roemania, Amsterdam, Paris and Ibiza.

Proud of these amazing women, grateful for the adventure and looking forward where this will take us in the new year.

✨ the Art of Recycling✨

In the heart of Wadi Rum, one of our weaving women turned what others might call “waste” into a masterpiece of ingenuity — transforming an old tourist bench, a few wires, and a single screwdriver into a hand-built loom.

On this self invented piece, she now weaves traditional stripe patterns from old sweaters — crafting vibrant rugs, bags, and pillows that carry stories of circular economy, conscious living, and timeless Bedouin resilience.

This is the spirit of LUMEYO: women who turn limitation into art, tradition into innovation, and waste into beauty — weaving not just fabric, but futures.
