京都で五代続く京和傘の老舗です。茶道家元御用達の本式野点傘をはじめ、番傘、蛇の目傘などの各種和傘の製作、修理、を行なっている京都で唯一の和傘製造元です。 「伝統は革新の連続」を企業理念とし、和風照明「古都里-KOTORI-」を始め、MOTO、ryoten、傘庵などの様々なデザインプロダクトも開発しております。

和傘が古くから日本の文化や暮らし、美意識とともに歩んできたことをあらためて感じます。

As Kyoto's summer draws to a close, the Gion Festival enters its final chapter with the Ato Matsuri.

Beyond the magnificent Yamahoko Procession and Hanagasa Procession, traditional Japanese umbrellas could be seen throughout the streets of Kyoto.

Seeing wagasa blend so naturally into these centuries-old festivities is a beautiful reminder that they have long been woven into Japan's culture, daily life, and sense of beauty.

京都の夏を彩る祇園祭
本日は、前祭の山鉾巡行が執り行われました。

35度を超える猛暑日となりましたが、
お囃子の音色は涼しく、
「動く美術館」を堪能させていただきました。

For more than 1,000 years, Kyoto’s Gion Festival has been held to pray for good health and protection from epidemics.

Often called a “moving museum,” the festival’s magnificent floats are adorned with priceless textiles and decorative treasures that traveled to Japan along the Silk Road.
