The space of L’Uunique labo envisions an abstract garden within the lounge, imagining an experience in which guests dine beneath flowers and relax in the garden before and after their meal. While the spaces are gently delineated according to different uses, careful attention is given to the continuity of circulation and sightlines, creating a seamless flow throughout the space.

In addition, the interior—expressed through references to natural materials such as stone and marble—is articulated with soft gradations of white, pursuing an atmosphere that is both refined and cohesive.

L’Uunique laboの空間は、ラウンジに抽象的な庭園をイメージし、「花の下で食事を楽しみ、その前後に庭で憩う」ような体験を想定している。利用シーンに応じて空間を柔らかく分けながら、動線や視線の繋がりを大切にし、全体に連続性のある空間の流れを生み出している。

また、石や大理石といった自然素材を表現したインテリアは、柔らかな白のグラデーションによって表現し、上質で一体感のある雰囲気を追求している。

Designed as a place where “L’Unique” (the one and only) and “labo” (laboratory) intersect, the space centers around an intimate eight-seat counter, where guests can experience Chef Hamano’s cuisine up close—like a staged performance unfolding before them.

From the chairs and service trolleys to the lighting, all elements were unified through designs by atelier oï, so that not only the cuisine but the entire space would emerge as a single, cohesive experience.

The custom pendant light suspended above the counter was inspired by” flowers,” an essential motif in the chef’s cuisine. Their frames, shaped to evoke petals, are clad in white stretch textile. By harnessing the material’s elasticity and translucency and carefully adjusting both light intensity and direction, the lighting casts a soft, gradated glow throughout the space. Based on atelier oï’s design concept, Uchida Design translated its intent into a realized form.

Centered around this lighting, cuisine, light, and space come together as one—creating a setting that offers a truly one-of-a-kind experience, designed to linger in the memory of those who visit.

“唯一無二= L’Unique”と“実験室= labo”が交差する場所として設計された空間は、8 席のみのカウンターを中心に構成され、シェフ濵野氏の料理を舞台のように間近で体験できる設えとしている。

椅子やサービスワゴンを含む家具から照明に至るまで、アトリエ・オイによるデザインで統一し、料理のみならず、空間全体がひとつの体験として立ち上がるよう計画した。

カウンター上に設えた特注のペンダントライトは、シェフの料理に欠かせない「花」から着想したデザインで、花びらを思わせるフォルムのフレームを白のストレッチテキスタイルで覆い、素材の伸縮性や透過性を生かしながら光量や方向を調整することで、空間全体にグラデーション状の柔らかな光を広げている。アトリエ・オイのデザインを基盤に、その意図を汲み取りながら内田デザイン研究所が具体化した。

この照明を軸に、料理・光・空間が一体となることで、訪れる人の記憶に残る、唯一無二の体験を提供する場を目指している。

BOHEMIAN GLASS TEA UTENSILS, 2006

In 2006, Shigeru Uchida visited the glass workshop “Ajeto”, run by the Czech architect Borek Šípek at the time, with whom he shared a close friendship, and designed a variety of tea utensils. Ajeto is known as one of the leading Czech workshops, carrying on the tradition Bohemian glass while producing contemporary works. All of the pieces were made using traditional glassblowing techniques and handcrafted individually by skilled artisans.

The exhibition “Shigeru Uchida × Borek Šipek” currently on view at features glass works by both artists.

2006年、内田は親交のあったチェコの建築家ボジェック・シーペックのガラス工房「Ajeto」を訪れ、茶道具の数々をデザインする。Ajeto工房は、ボヘミアンガラスの伝統を受け継ぎながら現代的な作品を手掛けるチェコを代表する工房のひとつとして知られている。
制作された作品は、いずれも伝統的な吹きガラス技法を用い、職人による手作業で一点ずつ仕上げられている。

「内田繁×ボジェック・シーペック展」、両作家のガラス作品を展示中。
