Heisei 12 Nen spring (spring 2000)

The wonderful sword carving was carven by Shigemitsu Kashiwagi, who won the Chairman's Award at the sword carving section of "Contemporary Sword profession Exhibition".

鳥取県立博物館での企画展で飾っている鎧の紹介です。
5番目はこちらです。幕末の鳥取藩家老、池田兵庫介所用のものです。
床几に腰掛けるポーズは池田恒興の肖像画のオマージュでした。
胴の猪は武士の信仰を集めた摩利支天を現しています。

We will introduce our 9 armors on display to the special exhibition "Tottori Turbulent World" currently being held at the Tottori Prefectural Museum.

The 5th is this armor.

This armor was held by Hyougonosuke Ikeda, the Karo(chief retainer) of the Tottori domain at the end of the edo period.
The pose sitting on a folding stool called Shogi is a tribute to Tsuneoki Ikeda's portrait.
The boar motif decorated on the body shows the Marish*ten(Goddest of Wealth and Warrior Class), which gathers the faith of the samurai.

鳥取県県立博物館の企画展で展示しております甲冑の紹介です。
3つ目はこちらです。
いわゆる彦根の赤備（あかぞなえ）です。
彦根藩井伊家の侍は軍装を全て赤一色で統一しています。
本来、旗指物も赤で統一されますがこのディスプレイでは別家の旗指物を装着しています。
オリジナルの前立、後立が付属いたします。
兜鉢　室町時代末期
具足構成江戸時代中期

We will introduce our 9 armors on display to the special exhibition "Tottori Turbulent World" currently being held at the Tottori Prefectural Museum.
The third is this armor.
So-called I-I-NO-AKAZONAE.
All the military equipment of the samurai of Hikone clan is unified all in red.
Originally, the war flag attached to the behind of one's armor(Hata-Sashi-Mono) is unified in red too, but in this display armor wear another family war flag.
Also comes with an original MAETATE and an original USHIRODATE.
Kabuto-bachi : Late Muromachi period.
Other : Mid-Edo period.

鳥取県立博物館の企画展に貸出中の甲冑の紹介です。
今回はこちらの甲冑です。
これは150石くらいの鳥取藩士の家に伝わったものです。
前立の金の丸は鳥取藩士の合印（同士討ちを避ける為の印）です。
鳥取から蔵出しする鎧を多く扱うと何処か作風の似通った物に多く出会います。おそらく同一工房のものでしょう。こちらも典型的な鳥取産具足です。
江戸時代後期

It is an introduction of the armor which is lent to the special exhibition of Tottori Prefectural Museum.
The 2nd item is this armor.
This armor was handed down to the family of the Tottori clan of about 150 koku.
The gold round mark of the front (MAETATE) is a mark of the Tottori clan. (AI-JIRUSHI) AI-JIRUSHI is a mark for distinguishing enemies or allies.
We saw many items with similar style in Tottori. It's probably made in same workshop. This is also an armor made of typical Tottori.
Late Edo period.

鳥取県立博物館での企画展に甲冑を全部で9体貸出しておりますが会場では甲冑の説明がありませんのでこの
場を借りて順番に説明させていただきます。
こちらは他の企画展にも出ていた事があるので見覚えのある方も多いかと思います。
江戸時代初期の作品です。華やかな装飾、胴のシルエットや脇板の形状は桃山時代の雰囲気を残しております。
後ろの大きな立物は菖蒲をかたどったもので鯨の髭で出来ています。
鯨の髭は軽くて弾力がありとても便利な素材です。
烏帽子形兜に碁石頭伊予札の丸胴です。若い侍が着用していたのでしょう。とても華やかです。

We are lending 9 armor to the museum.
We will introduce one point at a time.
First of all, this golden armor.
It is a work of the 16th century.
The large ornaments in the behind are made of Baleen whales.
It is strong and elastic.
The wearer must have been a young samurai.

より多くの方々に甲冑を好きになって頂きたいと思いこのような展示をいたしました。

We lend armor to this exhibition and work on displays.
