🖌️ Yesterday, we had the pleasure of hosting a DONATION EVENT to support to Little Hearts Organization by delivering a donation of raised money during our “Let’s Eat” exhibition, initiated by the founders and owners of the Stor-y Design Hub - Mr. Elton Ang and Ms. Amiliya Wang!

🗓️Synopsis and Stor-Y Design Hub are grateful to everyone who visited and supported us, making this possible. Our first exhibition at Synopsis Gallery started the story with Michael Santiago, who commute to Cambodia more than 17 years and create the exhibition promoting khmer food.

Chapter 17: A-ping or Deep Fried Edible Spiders

Fried Edible Spiders was the first dish, he tried in Phnom Penh along the riverside. Those small stalks when near the Royal Palace still cater in one of those many small stalls of vendors vending food and snack, one caught my attention when tourists laughing and squirming over something and there A-ping to your plates!

Chapter 16: Cambodian Kralan or Sticky Rice with Beans in a Bamboo Tube

The next Chapter is 16, well we tried so many dishes! Now it’s time to try Kralan, which Michael loved to enjoy next to
Independence Monument, near Wat Langka. Back then, there was a lot of street food vendors, who everyday passionately cooked for office workers or late day tourists! He even didn’t know how to eat it first, until ‘the old lady’ showed him to peel it off as banana!

Well, if you ask me personally, what my favorite local breakfast in Cambodia? Definitely, Nom Banh Chok, with fish flakes, cause I am not that good with curry one, but Michael prefers the spicy one!

It tastes so different, spicy, sweet and sometimes sour? Have you tried it yet?
Come for freshly brewed coffee or matcha in the morning, and catch your Bai Sach Chrouk. It’s a complete breakfast for people who go to work early - it’s basically grilled pork bellywith rice.

Chapter 12: Num Pang Pate or Cambodian Sandwich

Cambodian cuisine is rich of flavors! How about baguette? Definitely french, you would say!

But have you tried the num pang baguette, then ‘ming’ would slice it in the middle, you choosing between sardine or liver pate to spread on the baguette.

When we walk through the STOR-Y Design Hub showroom, going all the way up, it’s seems like all the foods on the wall canvases, really giving you the best memories flashbacks, if you ever tried those dishes, you could feel the taste through the artwork!
