Studio Nada Debs

Studio Nada Debs handmade + heartmade Nada Debs is a Lebanese designer living and working in Beirut. There is something of each of her experiences in all of her work.

Her work spans scale and discipline: from product and furniture design to one-off commissions across craft, art, fashion and interiors. What ties her work together is her ability to distil culture and craftsmanship to create pieces of emotional resonance. Nada grew up in Japan, studied design at the Rhode Island School of Design in the United States and has spent significant periods of time living

and travelling the world, finding connections between different cultures. In essence, she captures the power of the human hand to tell stories that touch the heart. She calls her approach: handmade and heartmade.

Some treasures are worn for a day. Others are kept for a lifetime.

Hand embroidered on woven straw and finished with delicate tin inlay, these bespoke wedding boxes are created to hold the small pieces of a love story. Handmade and heartmade, each one is crafted as a lasting keepsake, carrying memories long after the celebrations have passed.

A dialogue between stone and craftsmanship.

Created in collaboration with Studio Lél, this collection reinterprets the centuries-old art of stone inlay through bold geometry, rich natural marbles, and sculptural forms. Each piece is meticulously handcrafted, bringing together Levantine design sensibilities and South Asian artisanal traditions in a contemporary expression of materiality.

Available at the Nada Debs Boutique, Alserkal Avenue, Dubai.

A study in colour, form, and memory.

Soft shades inspired by Uzbekistan’s architectural landscape bring warmth and character to each vase in Traces. No two pieces are alike, each carrying its own composition of colour, gesture, and craft.

Each piece in Traces begins with a dialogue between structure and spontaneity.

Hand-built and wheel-thrown by Lina Shamma, the vessels are adorned with fragmented motifs inspired by Uzbekistan’s rich architectural heritage. Drawn from photographs of mosaics, arabesque patterns, and ornamental details, these elements are intentionally scattered across each surface, creating compositions that feel at once familiar and unexpected.

No two pieces are the same. Variations in form, placement, and texture transform each vessel into a singular object, carrying traces of both the maker’s hand and the journey that inspired it.

Introducing Lina Shamma. A ceramist whose work embraces instinct, imperfection, and the poetry of the hand.

As the first artist to join the WA Collective, Lina brings her distinctive approach to Traces, a collection born from a creative exchange with Nada Debs and inspired by the architectural wonders of Uzbekistan. Fragments of mosaics, arabesque motifs, and centuries-old ornamentation find new life across hand-built and wheel-thrown forms, where carefully ordered geometry gives way to spontaneity and movement.

The result is a collection that feels both ancient and contemporary, precise yet deeply personal.

A celebration of craft, culture, and the stories that connect them.

Introducing the WA Collective.

Born from Nada Debs’ journeys and encounters across the world, WA is a living dialogue between cultures, makers, and the work of the hand. Each piece carries traces of a place, a person, and a process, revealing stories that go far beyond the object itself.

Meaning “and” in Arabic and “harmony” in Japanese, WA brings together contemporary artisans and designers through a shared language of craft, where different materials, traditions, and creative voices exist in conversation with one another.

A space for exchange. For discovery. For the handmade and the heartmade.
