Part 1
The Wael Farran Journal | From Passion to Profession

My very first day in the Interior Design department marked the beginning of a completely new chapter.
From the very first semester, the real journey began—hard work, pressure, and countless sleepless nights. Anyone familiar with this profession knows how much dedication, perseverance, and passion it demands.
We started as nearly 250 students, but by graduation, only about 24 of us remained. Not because the others lacked talent, but because this field requires genuine passion if you want to see it through.
The interesting part was that I actually loved the pressure. Despite the long hours and exhaustion, I found joy in it because I was finally doing something I truly loved.

Wael Farran created Formitable® to challenge the conventional idea of the table—turning an everyday object into a distinctive design statement.

SCULPTURAL CANOPY PAVILION

The pavilion is positioned as a floating focal point within the landscape masterplan, carefully aligned between the reflective water basin and the surrounding terraced gardens. The composition relies on the tension between solidity and reflection, weight and levitation, enclosure and openness.

A Journey of Becoming

A Journey of Becoming transcends design—it is a deeply personal reflection of growth, creativity, and memory. As I transformed this house into a home, I carefully curated each element to express the milestones and challenges that have shaped my evolution as a designer and individual.

The Wael Farran Journal | My Journey

Each of us has a story. And the most beautiful part of life is that, with time, awareness, and maturity, we discover that we have the power to rewrite that story in a way that feels more authentic to who we truly are. Like many students in their final year of school, I found myself torn between two paths: studying Law or pursuing Design. I began my first year in Law at the Lebanese University, and I genuinely enjoyed the experience. I've always loved engaging with people, exchanging ideas, and I have a deep belief in justice and fairness. But there was another calling I couldn't ignore. While everyone around me was carrying law textbooks, I found myself immersed in architecture and design magazines. That was the moment I realized my heart already knew the answer long before my mind did. So I left Law school and enrolled at Beirut University College (BUC) to study Interior Design. And that was where the real journey truly began.
