Mercantile Flooring Showroom - Nawala

Every material has a story. For the Mercantile Flooring showroom, we transformed what many would consider waste into the defining design feature of the space. Reclaimed timber flooring off-cuts, marble remnants, and travertine pieces were carefully composed to create a continuous highlight pathway that guides visitors from the entrance to the main consultation counter.

More than a showroom, the space becomes a living catalogue—where the products themselves shape the architecture. Through craftsmanship, pattern, and material reuse, discarded fragments were given a new purpose, celebrating sustainability while creating a memorable customer experience.

Design is not only about creating something new; sometimes it is about discovering the hidden potential of what already exists. ✨

Proving that luxury isn’t about lot size, but how you design the space. Situated on a tight 6-perch plot in Nawala, this residence uses split-level architecture to turn a narrow footprint into a spacious, riverfront sanctuary.

The concept was simple: Give every space a view.

From the turquoise breeze-block office on the ground floor to the open-plan living area that spills onto the pool deck, the house connects vertically to maximize volume and light.

KWO Headquarters – Breathing New Life into Print Waste

The new office for KWO Private Limited, Sri Lanka’s leading printing supplier, is a celebration of material reuse and creative reinvention. The design embraces the company’s identity—deeply rooted in print—by transforming waste generated within its own premises into architecture.

The façade, crafted from reused offset plates, is not static but alive—responding to the breeze with subtle movements that animate the building. This dynamic surface reflects both the vibrancy of the print industry and the company’s forward-looking adaptability.

Inside, the ethos of reuse continues. Partition walls and ceilings are assembled from paint tins, barrel covers, and other salvaged elements, each piece carrying traces of its past life. These materials are not hidden but celebrated, making the building itself a narrative of transformation and sustainability.

Color plays a central role in the interiors, with installations that echo the CMYK palette—the backbone of printing. This connection between material, process, and brand identity creates a layered spatial experience, where the office becomes more than a workplace: it is a tactile story of innovation, resourcefulness, and ecological responsibility.

At its core, the project redefines the boundaries of architectural materiality—turning industrial leftovers into a living symbol of circular design. Much like printing gives permanence to ideas, the building immortalizes the potential of what is often overlooked, proving that sustainability can also be bold, playful, and inspiring.
