USA-Style Beef Pot Roast
Ingredient
1.5 kg beef chuck roast
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 large onion, chopped
4 carrots, cut into chunks
4 potatoes, cut into chunks
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups beef broth
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp dried thyme
1 tsp salt
ยฝ tsp black pepper
Instructions
Season the beef with salt and pepper.
Heat oil in a large pot and brown the beef on all sides.
Remove the beef and sautรฉ onion and garlic for 2โ3 minutes.
Add beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and thyme.
Return the beef to the pot and add carrots and potatoes around it.
Cover and simmer on low heat for 3โ4 hours (or bake at 160ยฐC / 325ยฐF for about 3 hours).
Cook until the beef is tender and easily pulls apart.
Slice or shred and serve with the vegetables and gravy.
Serving Suggestion
Serve with crusty bread or mashed potatoes for a traditional American-style meal.
