Oh Sew Global Brightening Brighton, Britain and beyond with brilliant bunting!

With a renewed interest in sewing and cross stitch embroidery, I am enjoying sourcing remnants and engaging prints to create bunting and sweet little gifts (when I am not teaching).

Oh Sew Sussex…sunny but very very windy! It was a pleasure to be asked to be part of The Big Sussex Day event on Denton Island, Newhaven to celebrate everything wonderful about our county.
Annually celebrated on 16th June, this event brought together awesome live music, tasty foods, delicious drink and some county bunting!!!

Oh Sew Obsessed with Moroccan palm trees.
They are everywhere; city centres, roadsides, gardens, oasis!!! Either in clumps or in isolation, I took photos and embroidered.

Oh Sew Purposeful…various modes of Moroccan transport spotted whilst on the road. I saw so many donkeys that I just had to add a one to my cross-stitch collage.

Oh Sew Festastic!
With 9000 alleyways, it is easy to get lost within the souks. It is bustling with young and old, a kaleidoscope of colours, sounds and delicious delicacies. There is an abundance of commercial cooperatives and smaller sole traders making and selling all manner of crafts.

Oh Sew Blue… the Moroccan town of Chefchaouen is lovingly cared for with striking blue and whitewashed houses, red-tiled roofs and artistic doorways. Set against a wide valley and nestled between two peaks in the stunning Rif Mountains, a sunset walk up to the viewpoint overlooking the ‘blue city’ is highly recommended.

Oh Sew Romantic…in Casablanca!
Our Moroccan adventure continues although I have not had time to add anything to my cross-stitch collage yet!
We enjoyed our walk around the calmer Habous souk, in preference to the old Medina, which was more chaotic and touristy, before wandering to Rick’s Bar for a mellow cocktail or two as the pianist played.
This free time, together with our earlier tour of Hussan ll mosque, made for a great stay in Casablanca.

Oh Sew Moroccan…my cross stitch has an added image, Hassan ll Mosque in Casablanca. Modern yet intricate, spacious yet welcoming, we enjoyed a guided tour outside prayer time.
