HEMINGWAY CIGARE LOUNGE I Interior Design I yachtclubmonaco, Monaco

Designed to encourage conversation and connection, this meeting space was conceived to evoke a warm and intimate atmosphere.

A subtle balance is created between the rich leather and walnut tones of the seating and table on one side and the softness and lighter hues of the fabrics selected for the bespoke lampshade and bespoke sheer curtains on the other.

Nearby, ci**rs are stored in a cedar cabinet designed by our studio a wood traditionally used to preserve their quality over time.

The columns, wrapped in several hand-braided ropes, bring a deliberately authentic character to the space, echoing the codes of yachting and the maritime world, that inspired and guided the overall design for this project.

The space takes on a more subdued, intimate character, shaped by a refined interplay of materials, light and perspective.
Abaca Roman blinds softly filter daylight, while rope-clad columns introduce a rhythmic structure, subtly reinforcing the architectural identity of the place.

Solid wood and leather seating converse with bespoke coffee tables in walnut and glazed lava stone, composing a warm and timeless aesthetic.

Screens are used as quiet architectural elements, defining volumes, articulating circulation, and preserving a sense of intimacy without ever enclosing the space.

From custom furnishings to architectural detailing, every element contributes to a cohesive narrative—one defined by bespoke design, artisanal precision and a sensitive dialogue between textures.

Bespoke Sheers & Roman Blinds

The window treatments extend the project's exploration of materials and light.

Entirely motorised and handcrafted to measure, the Roman blinds transport us to the world of vintage sailing vessels. Crafted using two different abaca weaves by cmoparis and bisson_bruneel, they celebrate the project's rich craftsmanship and textural depth, bringing character and authenticity to the space.

On the other side, the sheers by dedarmilano, woven in a delicate gauze, introduce a sense of lightness and softness while naturally enhancing the quality of light throughout the interior.

At the heart of the joinery lies an antique piece that was already present in the Cigar Lounge: an iconic cabinet housing the private lockers of the premium Yacht Club’s. The entire woodwork was custom-designed and crafted around this central element to restore its rightful place within the space and establish it as a true focal point of the Cigar Lounge. A piece rich in history that was essential to preserve and highlight.

Made from a combination of cedar, walnut and solid wood, this architectural composition brings together aesthetics with functionality. Cedar was specifically chosen for its natural humidity-regulating properties, ensuring optimal preservation of the ci**rs.

Through the glass doors of the lockers, the bisson_bruneel fabric, delicately integrated between two glass panels, diffuses the light and creates a subtle play of textures and transparencies while maintaining the privacy of the storage compartments.

Surrounding this composition, the side tables, specially designed for this project in collaboration with adpceramique and our carpenters, were designed to create a harmonious dialogue between existing heritage, craftsmanship and contemporary design.

Custom-made, these screens were designed to structure the space and create subtle divisions without disrupting the overall flow of the interior.

Their design allows for the creation of distinct areas within a single volume, providing privacy while naturally guiding movement throughout the space.

The combination of wood and hand-woven eco-leather features soft, amber tones that gently filter the light while preserving a sense of comfort and discretion.

Lightweight and versatile these screens redefine the space while becoming an integral part of the project's identity.

HEMINGWAY CIGAR LOUNGE | Interior Design | yachtclubmonaco, Monaco

A true architectural feature in its own right, the bar combines natural materials, attention to detail, and bespoke pieces designed specifically for the project.

The niche, lined with wallpaper by dedarmilano in soft greige and linen tones, gently envelops the space. The focal point : a sculpture made from recycled leather offcuts, designed in collaboration with hors_studio and inspired by the movement of the sea. It was entirely handcrafted and applied using a marouflage technique, creating a textured, irregular surface that allows light to reveal the full beauty of the craftsmanship.

The bespoke joinery, in walnut and woven Papyrus made from 100% seagrass by cmoparis complements the shelves in wood and glass, bringing a sense of lightness and transparency. The structure is wrapped in natural paper cord, evoking cigar leaves and the world of yachting.

To complete the composition, the wall lights — made of stoneware and thermoformed amber glass — were designed by the studio in collaboration with amandehaeghen as unique pieces inspired by the wrapper of a cigar.

This project was born from a simple desire: to imagine a place capable of bringing together two worlds and translating their visual language into the interior, without reproducing them literally.

I envisioned the Cigar Lounge as an experience where every corner reveals a different atmosphere — more intimate, more sensorial, more immersive.

From the very beginning, the intention was not only to design a space, but to tell a story through the choice of each material. The project’s ethos was an integral part of this reflection: to create with intention, to select with care, and give meaning to every object.

Designed as a dialogue between emotion, craftsmanship, and eco-responsibility, the project unfolds as a journey, shaped by movement and the sensations it evokes.

Designed to extend the identity of the space, this bespoke sofa was conceived and crafted by our studio.

Bringing together natural materials, artisanal craftsmanship, and contemporary lines, it embodies a refined balance of warmth and timelessness.

Its solid beechwood frame forms a soft, welcoming silhouette defined by gentle curves. The curved backrest, wrapped in handwoven natural paper cord, introduces rhythm, texture, and delicacy to the overall composition.

Fully upholstered and dressed in a fabric by biobject, the seat was designed to provide generous comfort while preserving the purity and elegance of the lines.

The cushions, created specifically for this project, complete the piece with a subtle balance of character, softness, and sophistication.
