A contemporary maisonette nestled in the heart of Għargħur, Casa Binova was designed by DAAA Haus as a refined and welcoming home where natural light, materiality and atmosphere work in harmony.

Daylight enters through the front of the residence, filtering gently through sheer curtains and casting soft, ever-changing shadows that shape the mood throughout the day. A carefully balanced palette of warm earthy tones, textured fabrics, stone finishes and rich dark wood finishes brings depth and character to the interior, while sculptural furniture and clean architectural lines create a distinctly contemporary expression.

Where the rock meets the sea.

KORA, our project on the northern coast of Malta, is now featured in Interni Magazine.

Hand-worked terracotta. Natural stone. Sun-bleached wood. Burnished metal. Materials chosen not for their appearance, but for how they age — absorbing salt, wind and light until the architecture becomes part of the landscape.

Luxury, here, is not decoration. It is proportion. Silence. The view that becomes the room.

Within the breakfast area at Otto, both natural and artificial lighting play a fundamental role in shaping the interior experience. As light moves through the spaces, it accentuates the textures of stone, limewash and fabric, creating a dynamic interplay of light and shadow that evolves throughout the day.

This interaction enhances the tactile qualities of the materials, adding depth while reinforcing the tranquil atmosphere that defines the experience at Otto.

At Otto, the visual narrative centres on the building’s original characteristics, serving as a testament to its enduring journey through time. Original arches have been highlighted through the use of architectural lighting, while the original limestone slabs were carefully restored and left exposed. Rather than concealing the building’s age, Otto celebrates its imperfections, allowing the natural character of the structure to become an integral part of the experience.

Soft limewashed walls, warm neutral tones, and organic textures create an atmosphere of serenity throughout Otto. The use of natural materials establishes a sense of continuity between old and new, balancing contemporary interventions with the timeless qualities of the original architecture.

Housed in a beautifully restored 300-year-old residence, this boutique retreat has been thoughtfully transformed into a refined Mediterranean haven, minimal in design, yet rich in character and deeply respectful of its storied past.

At Haus Eleven 11, an exercise in subtraction and precision. The same interior discipline extends outward, where the pool terrace and wooden deck continue the dialogue between material and open sky. An architecture defined by silence and a strong and timeless presence.
