In September 2001, Mercedes Castaneda (1976) and Carla Lemus (1978) started the design firm 184 mobiliario. Since then, their products have been displayed in galleries and design stores, among which fe
ature the Museo Tamayo, Centro store, MOB and
Marconi. Their creations have appear in international publications like Water Planet and exhibitions in different art venues in Japan and Germany. In January 2007 they conformed the CASUS - CANICA AZUL project, dedicated to interior design and home, store and office furniture. In 2010 the MIRADA DESFASADA exhibition took place in a gallery in the San Rafael neighborhood. In it, they presented their collection of objects made with repurposed and reutilized materials with the intention of raising awareness about the planet's situation, as well as a brief review of ten years of work. They are now a part of the Mexican Catalog of Design.
